Or however his name is spelled. Having watched the Spanish footy on sky for a few years, I've always thought this guy rules. He's funny, well informed and I look forward to seeing him on TV. Just found out now he's a Liverpool fan too. What a guy.

He lived in Liverpool for a while, possibly as a student??? Can't really remember. But that's when he fell in love with the club.

What are these foreigners like?

Coming over here, falling in love with our club. FRENCH, Spanish! They're all the same!

;)

Yeah he was a student in Liverpool and loved his time here. He is a quality pundit and a funny guy. His contacts in Spain are impeccable.

I just think he rules. I remember the time live on sky when he ripped off his suit jacket and shirt to reveal his Espanol shirt underneath after they'd had a great result (in one of the cups I think). Quality.

I tell you who else is great the ex red Michael Robinson who is Spains top pundit/presenter - he is a very interesting guy and he says Liverpool FC are the greatest passion in his life after his kids. I think recently he has felt LFC have been a bit amateurish in several ways but he will be ecstatic at this move for Benitez.

I completely agree with your opinion of him Dave.

It's not just him though.

He is so good, I used to be disappointed when he wasn't there. But the other Spanish lad who stands in for him (can't remember his name) is pretty good too.

The general opinion of Valencia by those who cover the Spanish footie on Sky, is that they are a pretty negative side????

But I think they must mean by Spanish standards as it is a very attack minded league, which is why I love watching it.

I would have loved to have seen Liverpool playing similar "negative" football to Valencia these last 2 years!

;)

Valencia are the only side I've seen us play in recent years who I thought were not just better than us but different class. They murdered us when we played them at the Marsella and it was embarassing at times during the first half.

You mean the lad who used to play for Wigan, Roberto Martinez? Yeah, he is good too. There's something about those two which puts most of our pundits to shame. They're knowledgeable, and interesting. Not like Earle and Townsend eh?
