I have watched all of House, but I didn't think it was terrific. However, his character was pretty good.

As for this Sherlock, it's probably my favourite TV/Film version. Think Cumberbatch is superb at it. So we're probably not going to agree on these things!

Please watch, I'd love to hear your opinion on their Moriarty

The Moriarty in both versions were terrible.

This is a great programme, it's not really made any promises to be faithful to the books CD and has always been a totally new take on them. Like I said earlier in the thread, I love the books and have read them many times, but I don't give them a second thought when I'm watching this. It's a reinvention of the character.

I'm quite happy with last nights episode. It was a welcome diversion from the previous episodes in my view and no TV programme should be afraid to try something a bit different. Last night explored a different side of Holmes and they let the main leads inject a bit of levity into matters. It worked, in my opinion, Freeman especially has great comic timing.

I will say that it genuinely surprised me which could be seen as a positive in a mystery series

I actually said 'oh just fuck off'.

Yeah, I thought he was worse than the one in Elementary, and that's saying something. A real weak link on the show.

Whad the fark! I thought he was one of the best parts of this version. Second only to Sherlock.

Even in the uk one? I thought he was good actually.

The evil criminal overlord who had to be home by bedtime ? Nah, he was awful again mate. Hopeless bit of casting again, about as menacing as Rice Krispies.

Aye, aye...

...things are on the up and up.

Fit as fuck and WWAP, love her in Game of Thrones but this is PC gone MAD.

What would Inspector Monkfish have to say I wonder ?

There have been a lot of great characters in this, he wasn't one of them. Badly miscast I thought.

I think the one that gets me is Mycroft.

I think Gatiss looks the part - perfect, actually - but I just wish the way he was written made him seem far sharper. Sharper, but lazier, than Sherlock.
