Roy Hodgson Settles For Liverpool And Flies Back To Sign Deal After England Qualifies

By Kenneth on Thursday, 24th June 2010 Fulham boss Roy Hodgson has decided on his backup plan for his choice of a new managerial job and is on his way back to England to ink a deal to take over the Liverpool hot seat after seeing his England managerial dream disappear after the Three Lions beat Slovenia 1-0 on Wednesday to qualify for the last 16.

The former Inter Milan coach had been waiting for the possibility of England failing to reach the knockout stage as current boss Fabio Capello would have stepped down from the post if that was the case. The Football Association were understood to be keen on handing the job to Hodgson should that scenario occur, but that has now been eliminated as England players rediscovered their desire to play in time to avoid the humiliation of an early knockout.

Liverpool will now await Hodgson’s return from South Africa where he was acting in the capacity of a BBC pundit and hope to complete negotiations with their number one candidate and complete a deal for him to start work immediately on rebuilding the Anfield club which has been torn apart this summer after a poor season, culminating in the sacking of Rafael Benitez as manager.

Hodgson was already approached by Liverpool last week but had asked to be given time to consider the offer, when in fact the Craven Cottage coach was biding his time for his dream job while having a ready replacement waiting in the wings.

Liverpool have decided to be patient to get the man they deem most suitable for the job despite having interviewed other candidates including former Real Madrid boss Manuel Pellegrini while Kop legend Kenny Dalglish had offered his services to steer the Anfield ship back on its proper course.

Isn't he the guy that used to make up loads of stories about all these fit celebrity women that he'd smashed?

It could well be.

He was the dickhead who made stories up about website owners being bribed with tickets for Athens though.

And when pulled on it he blamed it all on fat Dunk.

hehehehehehe yes yes and YES! Roy hodgson to LFC what a move!!! Time Rafa went ages ago! LOOK how much he spent, and then 6 to 12months later got rid of the players, he buys players and PLAYS THEM OUT OF posistion! Brings Tores off and replaces him with utter CR*P yes he wont the CHAMPS legue BUT THEY WERE NOT HIS PLAYERS!!! they were players that the MUCH better manager before Rafa got in,

How can Rafa have so many supporters when he does NOT know how to field a team, does NOT know how to set up a defence on a team, and does NOT know how to get the players to go forwards up the pitch rather than back towards the goal!

Rafa was in it for the money himself! NO1 can love the club that much and bitch and moan about so much, make dreadful singings, and just be so weird, Hodgson will bring stability, and get the players playing in the right posistions, bring motivation into the team, and at his age will be DIEING to win the PREM!!!!!!!

*King Kenny we LOVE you, and please stay at the club,

*American Owners, even tho ur so stupid, Rafa was also, so now rafa has gone so should you! sell the club for a £1 to people who really want to see it do well and cut ur losses.

. As previously reported by KOPTALK, Liverpool have recently lost Sheikh Khalifa of Abu Dhabi and at least one Indian bidder as a result of the ridiculous valuation of the club.

Crikey - you can't put anything down for a moment in Liverpool, can you? I knew Christy the Clown was careless, but losing an Arab sheikh is plain ridiculous.

And can people stop posting the convicted conman's pieces please?

Wow, he's not even appointed and the c-word already gets rolled out. Pathetic.

What's pathetic about it? Do you think that perhaps that judgement of Hodgson has been made due to his impact on the world of football over 25 years as opposed to the previous managers impact?

I do.

I am not aware of the site, but breakingfootballnews.com sounds incredibly reliable and certainly not the sort of site that would print any old rubbish.

He was also manoeuvring himself out three months into the season.

He's gone - get over it.

He no longer wanted to stay. I can understand it, but it's no use presenting him as a hapless and passive victim - a martyr - in this sorry mess.

He's gone - get over it.

I also think Pellegrini wasn't interested in either the salary or the conditions, so again can people kindly stop saying that Roy is getting the nod - allegedly - above him. He seemingly wants to stay in Spain or go back to Chile to manage the national team.

Surprised we met with O'Neill though. And McLeish

Doesn't matter one iota - it's like choosing which downs syndrome kid to take home out of the orphanage - None of them are ideal it's just how bad you are willing to accept.

Sorry for being non-PC.

For those that don't use that Twitter malarky.. from Mr. Tomkins:

"Been told by a very reliable source that Kenny Dalglish has not resigned his role at the club - not in the slightest"

I hope Long Lines is right on this one.

I will keep hoping until Turkey Neck is appointed. Actually I have a weird feeling/hope that Dalglish will be director of football with a young talented manager as manager/coach working for/with him.

I despair of some of the full time wankers who support Liverpool.

Look on the brightside!

A boycott should be a lot easier to organise, mind you, you will have to be quick not sure it would be that noticible in a few months time!

Fucking hell, its come to this Roy Hodgson, but at least he is english which should please a few Liverpool fans at least.

How much of a screaming, glaring message is it sending out to everyone if they really have spoken to Pelligrini (Who is out of work and looking for a new job) that he's turned us down!!!!!!!!

Fuck sake.

I do.

Sorry what? In my book calling someone a cunt hardly represents a balanced judgement. It's a vicious insult. Aimed at someone who has done absolutely nothing wrong. Comparitive records or opinions of who is the best candidate are absolutely irrelevant. Calling him a cunt is totally out of order. A massive overreaction to an imagined slight. Sociopathic stuff.

That is what is pathetic. That people are incapable of expressing their views with any kind of balance or cohesion. It's just "I don't like him, therefore he's a cunt." or "He's not Rafa?! What a cunt!"

Grow up.
