  1. The people of Israel are fucking idiots, the most retarded 'democratic' nation in the world. Please start an embargo and isolate this country from the world, because that's what it deserves. Signed, An (ashamed) Israeli.
  2. For the record, I'm not defending what's happening in Gaza right now, because there isn't much to defend. Hamas are a bunch of cunts, and so are the Israeli government. I'm part of the 3% in that poll, I guess.
  3. Or maybe Hamas executed a well planned attack, taking advantage of the ceasefire, and kidnapped an Israeli soldier. Just throwing that out there.
  4. I'd play our best team, and our best team has Sterling and Coutinho in it.
  5. He's not very good at this defending thing.
  6. I think he's always been overrated. I think defensive midfielders in general, everywhere in the league over the last few years, have been overrated. From an "unsung" position, they've become "oversung" and their impact on the game has been blown out of proportions. It's a position that doesn't require nearly as much as others on the pitch. Seems like players are getting praised for putting their foot in and staying in position just because they're defensive midfielders.
  7. Of course there is a chance, but I think it would be hugely detrimental to their interests. It will be extremely foolish of them, because they will gain nothing from it. I just don't think they're that stupid. Should Israel be attacked, it will definitely retaliate, but I don't think they will attack with the intent of escalating the situation. They will probably symbolically target the missle launchers and other strategic military locations to save face that they "did something". They do not want to get dragged into this. I also do not expect Iran to get involved in this scenario. They will make some noises like they love to do, but that will be it. The way I see it, the threats the Syrians are making is just talk. I may be wrong, but this is my perspective. I'm more concerned with what Hizbollah would do in this scenario.
  8. I think it's highly unlikely that Syria will launch rockets at Israel, it doesn't serve their interests at all. Israel are also not keen on getting involved here, Netanyahu would rather have things stay the same with regards to Syria. He's afraid of change of any kind. There are also no elections on the horizon. Israeli government isn't interested in escalation, there is just no motivation over here. They had their little Gaza war in the winter before the elections and I don't expect them to manufacture a new conflict anytime soon.
  9. I really like the fact that Rodgers has stopped obsessing over the 4-3-3. We don't have the dynamic central midfielders to make it work, and 4-4-2 is the only way to get the best out of both Suarez and Sturridge. Neither of them should be playing wide.
  10. Suarez and Sturridge are better than any strikers Spurs would be able to trot out this season. I also don't think they have any attacking midfielders at the level of Coutinho. Defensive personnel is a wash. It's not that I think we are clearly better. I wouldn't be shocked if they finished above us, I wouldn't be shocked if we had a better season either. It's just that the assumption that Spurs are clearly better is lost on me.
  11. Ibe is twice the player Downing is.
  12. There is no way I'd loan out our best winger. Kid deserves to play in the first team, I'm not impressed at all with any of the other players competing with him for a place bar Coutinho, who's boss and needs to play in the middle IMO. Downing is a waste of space in the squad. Not because he's useless, but because there is absolutely no future for him at the club long term. We are rebuilding, and if we want to build new foundations for the club, we better start giving Sterling more playing time and for that matter, Ibe. Downing isn't going to be here in a couple of years anyway, we're wasting playing time on the guy when we should be giving experience to someone who's going to be our best player in a couple of years.
