Our tactics

I know I`m going to shot-down by many for this post I`m sure.

First off I detest Man *** just in case there are any doubts.

But I`ve just watched the highlights of their game yesterday and for the first time in my life I found myself admiring them.

They get humilated by Real Madrid mid-week but come back yesterday with a determined and attacking display. That team has a real hunger and desire for playing passing , progressive and attacking football...if they score they don`t shut up shop but try and score more...sounds simple doesn`t it.

This culture can only come from the manager of the football club.

If the current Liverpool side goes somewhere like Newcastle we aim to keep it tight and if we go ahead shut-up shop - they seem satisfied with a draw or a narrow win. Invariably this season these cowardly tactics have backfired on us with few exceptions.

The greatest Liverpool team I have watched (Kenny`s boys of 88) had the same hunger and desire as the current M**** for playing football...how I long for that kind of Liverpool team playing "the Liverpool way".

I feel cheated this season by the manager especially but also the players - GH promised us a more attractive style of play , he admitted that during his illnesss he realised how poor we were to watch. What happened to this commitment? We saw glimpses eraly in the season but we have nevear reached the heights of last season - Ipswich away (poor side yes but there to be beaten) or Leeds.

As a supporter I want a winning team but also one I can be proud of and enjoy watching. Real Madrid`s awesome performance this week has put a lot of things in perspective - how many years are we behind that level of performance? Football has changed forever since the years we dominated Europe like the current Madrid side but for me one things sure we won`t even start to progress in that direction until there is a complete rethink of our current tactics.

Things have become quite simple for me - either our football philosophy changes or GH goes.

[%sig%]
