They can pass it about when they're given the time and space to do so, but they shit themselves when pressed and look to hit the channels. Football wise, Spain giving them a lesson, but admittedly, England are more effective when direct.

There we go - Bronze loses the ball, running into a crowd because she had no options - Spain win the ball, play it to where she was, goal.

Bronze had options, she just chose not to use them, she was trying to force it, they've lost their composure. They're struggling down that right hand side.  Some things still in their favour though, resilience, calmness, and adaptability.  I expect changes at half time or soon after if they don't equalise quickly.

I presume there’s no VAR in use?  If there is it’s being used effectively. Either way the game seems to be far more fluid than a game were VAR is fucking everything up.

Yes there is VAR, they've even had refs explaining VAR decisions to the crowd in this tournament.

Unthinkable I know.

Blimey! Fancy refs explaining their decisions to the crowd.

What's this shite here? Fuck me, the ball touching the hand didn't even prevent the attack continuing. How can you give penalties for things like that? Football is fucked.

"New" rules of course, but the bit in bold has never really been a consideration for handball.

I think it was a clear penalty under the rules.

Lawmakers need to get a grip here. You can’t go into contact with your arms by your side. It cannot be done. It was also point blank range. Harsh in the extreme. For those that think this was a penalty. Well, you’ve had your brain befuddled by these FIFA morons

Based on the rules it's a clear penalty.

The rules are wrong.

It's mental, the brush off the hand actually helped the Spanish player control the ball. Whatever happened to the idea that fouls and penalties were about redressing a lost opportunity?

It's a penalty.

Just like a player running in the opposite direction from the goal, and being brought down, is a penalty.

If you're in the opposition box, there are goal scoring opportunities afoot.

It was a penalty.

And it was saved.

Call it "justice', but it was still a penalty.
