Belllamy on Rafa

Can you tell me one piece of advice Mr Benitez has given you since you came to Liverpool?

He has given me a lot of advice, so it's difficult to emphasise one thing. He's made me think about my movement a lot more - and I always thought I had pretty decent movement as well! I speak to him and watch his DVDs on Craig Bellamy when he's analysising them. He is Rafa Benitez, he's got DVDs on everyone. He's probably got DVDs on you, mate. :D He's got DVDs on probably every player in the world! The man is just football. There's not one thing he misses. You think you've got away with something in a game, but you never do. He pulls you up and goes through little bits. I think I'm really benefiting from being with him.

Great stuff that. Bellamy fucking loves him, doesn't he? Not the kind of attitude that I was expecting from Bellamy before we signed him either - he comes across very well in that interview. Two years ago, I'd have expected him to smack someone for telling him to work more on his movement but he seems to have recognised for himself what Rafa can add to his game and has begun to seize the opportunity he's been given.

I could say that he's just being spun well by the club, but we've seen the improvements that he's talking about ourselves on the pitch. Fair play to him.

To all staff writers at LFC.tv: instead of asking "How much do you enjoy playing with Steven Gerrard?", please ask something like "how is it to play with steven gerrard". It's basic interviewing technique, and you are expected to at least know the basics. Please don't answer the questions for them before they get a chance to answer, and don't ask questions that produce the boring answers. The only player you haven't managed to present as a boring tit is Carra, and that's because he's so ace.

A leading question is the only one most footballers know how to answer since Sky came along.

I think it's fair to say that fears about Bellamy's character and temperament, although understandable, were misplaced. He's done nowt wrong this season. I think the court case was weighing him down a bit but since then he's produced the goods and even before the trial was giving his all and kept his head down and his gob shut, expcept when playing of course.
