Exactly right. It's not like we'd be getting Torres at his best if we'd kept him. A bit worried that we're going to need real wingers to make a system with these two work, hopefully they'll follow in the summer.

I think this is probably the truest post on here. He's playing all sides. He wants the protests stopped not only to make investment easier to secure but more than that to give the americans confidence that he's doing a good job and secure his position. Anyone buying the whole club wouldn't be put off by angry fans but clearly anyone investing alongside the owners would need to be assured that the issues could be fixed over time at the very least before commiting £100M.

If that's true, shouldnt we stop the protests as he asks? I'm inclined to believe you're right in what you say but it'll divide opinion. He asked SOS to stop the protests and if we believe he's the good guy we should trust that. I'm not sure anyone will trust him after the way we've been treated is all.

My reading of that bit was that there was money fdrom outside put into the transfer fund in the past AND that the TOTAL the yanks had put in was £130MLN although most of that was to pay down the debt for the refinance.

I don't agree with much of this. "Fuck everyone" doesnt actually get us our club back. Whoever the new owners are, when they do come in, they're going to run us like a business, just hopefully after not dumping a shitload of debt on us first. We can't expect saints running our club who do everything right all the time. At best we can hope for responsible, honest, business savvy owners who buy us out of their own pockets for long-term gains (e.g. Lerner?). I'm not sure I'd even want an Abramovic type anyway. We want sustainable long term success based off our own revenue from a new stadium and decent marketing and we NEED out of this debt. You think the owners will just fuck off for no money at all if we complain enough?

Obviously we want G&H to suffer, but I'm not sure we're making any difference other than a mild inconvenience to them by protesting at the moment anyway. Do we really want to cause disruption to our club getting investment? The worry is of course that if they start to think we're going away then they'll behave in a worse manner still as they'll think they can get away with it which is why trust in Purslow is required to take this step.

Yeah, totally believable. His motivation then must have been to get SOS onside but he must also have know it would come out and have hoped to stay onside with the owners with his version. I imagine that still means his true opinions are the ones SOS recorded which can only be a good thing. I just don't buy that he's doing this to get SOS off the owners' cases for a while. In any case, what do people think about leaving out the protests for a while to give him time to work? I don't know if doing things this way he's earned enough trust to warrant that with all members.

The differences aren't massive apart from a few OMMISSIONS from his minutes. I think even the best people are capable of reflecting that too much information might have been doled out after the fact.
