Given the level of some of the teams currently in contention, Newcastle will be top four contenders next season if they spend as expected this summer. Once they’re in, the first of dozens of league titles under the new ownership will only be 2-3 years away.

Behave.

Villa seem to be going through a bit of difficulty. Interesting to see how Gerrard handles it.

Or if he gets the chance. I’ve said before that it was a strange job to take - a sacking there effectively ends his hopes of a top job anytime soon (including ours) and what is success at a club like Villa? They spend too much for mid-table to be accepted indefinitely, but aren’t in a position where a step up to CL contention is realistic.

At least the results today will have Everton and their fans a bit anxious again. After last week they were probably feeling secure enough to feel they could cheer on a City win at Goodison next week. Losing that game now may at least have some negative connotations for them.

Norwich are down. If anyone gets out of that bottom three it'll be Burnley. We need them to go on a run now. Everton have City at home and Spurs away in their next two fixtures. They should get zero points there.

Yeah I said the other week I thought Burnley were the one team down in the bottom 3 capable of getting out of it. They've been here before and will still have complete belief they can turn it around. They've always come out with mini winning runs out of the blue in other seasons just as everyone is writing them off.
