He might not quite have the engine. He always seems to be run out of gas quite early. I think with Stoke that was a problem, because he was their best player and they couldn’t afford to take him off. With us he’s the perfect squad player to have. Make the most of his creativity for the first 60 minutes or get him on for his magic in the last 30 minutes.

Fantastic season so far. Very creative player, and I really think our team brings out the best in him, with runs being made left, right and centre, his vision and passing in the final third being up there with the very best.

I’m not trying to get anything going. I like it and, at the beginning of the season, said I’d be using it. I don’t care what anyone else does, or doesn’t do. Sorry about that.

 

On a more interesting note, I liked that after he scored both him and Salah ran to Trent to congratulate and encourage him about the cross. A bit like Suarez used to do with Sterling when we liked him.
