I think Ings will benefit from being a good foil for both Sturridge and Benteke and should see plenty of game time between those two's injuries.This is provided that whoever takes over from Rodgers craks on that you can play two up top against a good 75% of the teams in this division.

Ings was renowned at Bournemouth as a superb professional and someone who works his plums off game after game after game.

 

Whether he has the quality to move from squad player to first teamer at a club of what should be our stature will remain to be seen, but I'm glad he's here as it's clear he has something many of our players lack.

I like this little guy. He's a proper option in that he works hard and actually has some ability.

I think Benteke Sturridge and Coutinho works with the latter two using clever movement between the lines to free up space. We'd need Milner breaking wide and the full backs to supply crosses though.

 

Problem is that leaves Firmino out unless we move Coutinho further back and then the midfield becomes even less balanced.

Anyone who actually watched him play last season (or even the season before) and didn't just immediately dismiss him cos 'we're signing players from fucking Burnley' would have known he was a player with a lot of potential.

He's got the right attitude too. He could go far.
