Personally I thought Lovren was far superior to Sakho last season. He was our best player on the pitch a good few times last year especially towards the end of the season.

I think the club should easily be able to find a better, more arsed, centre-back with a world-class remunerated scouting department and the biggest wad of television money in the history of football burning a hole in its back-pocket.

Like every rated centre half we've had since the last title (with two honourable exceptions), I think he's very overrated. I like his aggression and his desire to get it down and play, as well as the pace of his forward passing. However, his concentration - maybe the most important quality in a centre back - is poor, his heading inconsistent and his decision-making variable. He gives the ball away when not under pressure and is injury prone.

 

I wouldn't hesitate for a second to sell him - especially in this market. The question of a replacement is a valid one but that's no different to any incoming transfer - we're shit at them - and it's up to Klopp to turn those around.

 

For me, the idea of Sakho and the reality are two different things. I want senior players who consistently deliver, rather than promise to. Get rid.

I reckon he could have built on some of his patches of good form, but due to injuries or self-inflicted issues he has yet to rack up more than ten consecutive league games. At centre-back that is a big problem. Add it to the other shit and he's dispensable.

Our defender with the greatest pedigree, and one of the very few genuinely top players at the club. Almost unbeatable in one-on-ones: the other sides of his game will settle with a calmer team around him. We'll regret selling him.

Whatever happens it will of sent a message to the entire squad that Klopp won't have disruption in the squad, I think he will go but I worry who will replace him.
