Enrique is a beast!

We definitely need another left back still. Keeping the competition up for that spot is needed. He has been superb lately. Better than when he joined, even.

Fulham may not be great, but we contributed to them looking poor by virtue of just a few changes that saw a better balanced midfield, and a clear determination to put effective possession over simple possession for possession's sake. The determination to move the ball forward quickly rather than a slow build up, coupled with actually pressing for possession up the pitch, and we looked far more effective and likely to score.

Glad Luis got his goal as it has been a few weeks for him. Strong running by Enrique. That was a good day. Sterling got a rest and he looked fresher when he came on. Suso got more experience. Downing played very well. Stevie looked at it. Pepe kept a clean sheet.

All in all a very good day. We were due a comfortable win at some point.

There is a five point gap between where we are and several other teams vying for that fourth spot. So we have a lot of work to do to get in the fight. Hopefully we will get a goalscorer in January and they will bed in quickly and help us to finish teams off. That will give us half a chance.

I think that the 'no allen' selection took Fulham by surprise, because it looked like their whole gameplan was to get at Allen. When he came on, Fulham jumped on him. Before that, they were just scrambling around trying to work out how to stop us, and failing.

Sell, especially if there is any chance of Walcott.

Absolutely. He's 28 and had a poor year and a half, even by his own standards, it's going to take more than one game against Fulham to fix it.

Great performance and nice to watch us have an easy win for once, good for the blood pressure. Downing motm for me, never thought I'd be saying that. Nice to see Stevie get a goal too, if only he'd get in the box more often I'm sure he'd get a few more. I liked the shift Suso put in, he didn't really get the run of the ball much but was a constant pain in the arse for Fulham closing down defenders and putting in a few tackles.

Anyway, nice to get a win. Merry fucking Christmas.

If only we'd turned around a couple of those results we deserved, we could be as high as third. Fucking hell, need to keep on pushing. Need to learn from the mistakes of last transfer window and do everything we can to get quality attackers into the club.

So do we sell or keep Downing?

Too little too late to erase the last 18 months. If someone offers actual cash money for him, then he's gone. If not, and it's a real possibility that no-one will be interested, then we'll see if today's performance was a one off or the player we bought finally remembered what he's paid for.

Downing like Henderson has been quietly improving all season.

That's why it's good to give players a bit of leeway and time to settle.

Hopefully we will be saying the same about Allen and Borini next year as they have shown potential.

Now is the time to place your trust in the manager to get the best out of them.

Dead straightforward this football supporter lark.
