I've just been having a look at the RAWK forum. Rashid, is there anywhere you don't take stick. I'm beginning to feel sorry for you. Perhaps we need a new forum which you can have all to yourself, where you can post to your heart's content, without abuse, where small lambs gambol contentedly in sunny meadows, and it's always summer, and where you can grow into old age and retirement contentedly...... :baa:

This is taken from The Guardian website today: Is the end nigh for Houllier? With Liverpool chairman David Moores insisitng that Champions League qualification is the club's "minimum acceptable target", is Gerard Houllier's reign coming to an end? Dominic Fifield reads the runes Tuesday December 9, 2003 How is the relationship between Gerard Houllier and Liverpool chairman David Moores? The relationship between the chairman and the manager is strong at Liverpool, and Moores has always been very supportive of the man in charge. The statement made yesterday was aimed primarily at the shareholders rather than Houllier or the supporters. We should…

Just a thought but I reckon every great team is built on a solid defence, this doesn't necessarily mean the back 4 or 5 or even defending as a team. I am talking about the centre halfs and the cover from midfield. In the treble year and the year after, we pulled off some fantastic results at home and more impressively away in europe, for me the key to these victories was the three H's, Hyypia, Henchoz and Hamman. We bored people silly with our defensive play but it was effective, what we lacked was a bit of creativity and more width going forward. In have come Kewell and Dioufy and going forward we do look alot brighter, but as everyone knows, we lost Didi for the fir…

Nobody has made this position their own. JC can play there but I'd prefer to see a natural left sided player there, same goes for Babbel. It's not Traore's best position and Riise is too inconsistent. A few questions I'd like to raise. Is there anybody coming through the ranks? How are Vignal and Warnock doing out on loan? Will Riise ever regain his top form on a consistent basis? What about that Konchesky lad that wanted away from Charlton? Any other left backs catch your eye?

A lot of people seem to think that Boumsong is definitely coming to Anfield, I have my doubts. He has never expressed a wish to come here in the way that Cisse has. His agent keeps saying that Liverpool are one of many top clubs looking at him. When he leaves in the Summer it will be on a Bosman, he will only come here if there is no better offer on the table. My guess is he will go elsewhere.

Agree that Joey Jones showed a lot of heart. It was just that out of that squad he was the odd one out. Compared to some of the players now he would up there in the higher echelons.

Yeovil away:thumbsup: anyone got any info about these? One thing that springs to mind for me was a flag in the Anny Rd about 10 years ago when we played Bristol Rovers saying 'BRFC Yeovil Greasers', which made me laugh. I hope it's one of those Royston Vasey like timewarp towns.

Great article in today's Daily Telegraph Managing multiplies pressure by 10 By Alan Hansen (Filed: 08/12/2003) You might wonder what I know about the first-hand experience of managing a football club. Of the kind of stress that gives the strongest, most determined men heart problems. Well, I was sort of the Liverpool manager once - only for about 15 minutes - and it confirmed to me what I already knew. That this was not a job for me. When Kenny Dalglish resigned from Liverpool in Feb 1991 I drove home from the training ground listening to a radio report that said I was 6-4 on to replace him. My Dad and my brother, John, were telling me I had to tak…

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Football fashions come and go. But one thing never changes......Everton are (in my opinion) among the worst set of fans following the most annoying club in English football. Today, as always, they were DEATHLY quiet barely busting into their brilliant "everton" chant....(you know....the one that goes "everton everton everton etc"). This has been exactly the same situation ever since i have been watching football ( i saw Trevor Francis debut so a while). Add to that the fact that, nearly always, they are a really average workmanlike team who somehow (usually jammiliy, sometimes dubiously) ne…

attcking football?

i know we had players missing today, but that is no excuse for the style of football we played today, in my view that was dreadful and if i wanted to watch a group of players hoof the ball up the pitch i would follow sunday league. GH got it wrong from the start and it was nothing but luck that we did not get stuffed today, the experience players must hate playing this style of football. its ok putting a man up front on his own, if he is a quality player and if you are going to support him, but neither happened. we are lucky at liverpool that we have some good quality players but if GH continues to play tactics which does not suit them or the club then one of …

Out with the lads from my football team last night for our xmas piss up. Bumped into a few of the fulham players on the rip. Clarke, Vand de saar, hayles. It was a bit of a goalkeepers get together as Dave Beasant & Mark Crossley were with them. A few of the younger guys from the team were chatting to them. Nice guys apparently. Lee clarke was well pissed. Quite a few chicks hanging out of them. Perks of the job;)

That Tackle
by Luke- 2 replies
I sat next to Graham Poll on the plane home Sunday and told him he got a lot wrong on Saturday. I asked him why he didn't book Stevie G foor that tackle and he said that if that had been anywhere else on the pitch he would have booked him. But Poll reckoned that Stevie G didn't catch the player and if he had whistled then he would have been slaughtered as he would have had to give a penalty and send Stevie off when he didn't actually catch the player. Consistancy anyone?
