GTA 5 announced

I'm surprised they've gone straight to GTA 5 rather than doing a "Vice City 2", "San Andreas 2" or even just "Los Santos" within the GTA 4 universe (with the interwoven storylines that 3/Vice City/San Andreas had).

 

To my eternal shame I've never completed 3 or Vice City but I've actually fired up the old PS2 a few weeks ago to have a crack at them in my spare time and about 25% through 3 at the minute. Completed San Andreas twice in the past and after these two I'll probably go through it again for shits and giggles, for me easily the best release to date.

 

Never played 1 or 2 back in the day, although I found out recently my girlfriend had them gathering dust so I borrowed them off her but couldn't quite get into them.

This and Hitman are about the only 2 games I will buy on the day they come out and pay full whack for.

Hopefully theyll pull a fast one and release it in April. That would be around the fourth anniversary of the GTA IV release.

Yeah the founders are British but Rockstar is based in New York now, they also have a studio in San Diego who made Red Dead Redemption

 

edit: actually after reading up, they have developers in Scotland aswell called 'Rockstar North'

Hope they release this simultaneously across all platforms rather than port the prototype PC version to Xbox & PS3, then release the original PC version months and months later.... (IIRC the PS3 port was a fucking nightmare to do).
