Bourbon can only be made in the US, its mash must be at least 51% corn and must be barrelled at no more than 125 proof.

Japanese whiskey is rarely Japanese these days either. It's mostly sourced abroad and bottled in Japan. That's why so many of the big brand bottles like Yamazaki,Nikka and Hibbiki have slightly changed the name of the bottle, its labelling and why tbey are taking age statements off the bottle the last few years.

Luckily I have 3 bottles still

Gentleman Jack £20 and Woodford £25 in Asda at the minute. Must be getting rid for the Christmas themed bottles.

If they have any single barrell Jack in any sales it's worth the extra money. Normal on sale at 25/30 around this time

Amazon has Wild Turkey 101 at 22. If you want something with a higher alcohol content you won't get better at that price

I got a decent little haul of Bourbon as birthday presents, a couple of bottles of Woodford Reserve, a bottle of Makers Mark and I've just had a bottle of Eagle Rare delivered off my sister which I've never had before but heard good things about.

Looking forward to cracking this one open.

I’ve had a bottle of Eagle Rare sitting there for years and cracked it open tonight. I’m going to be honest I’m regretting it.

Probably because it’s 45% and I’ve drank the whole bottle whilst listening to Hall and Oates and the Dirty Dancing Soundtrack but you know

Anyway the moral of the story is don’t get smashed on your own listening to Foreigner… unless you want to have a fucking good time

They're the best nights. Mrs went out with some mates a while ago and I just sat there alternating between McCallen scotch and buffalo trace Barbon all night, at one point I was moonwalking up and down the living room to this and she came home about half one to find me face down on the couch.
