Blanton’s is a fine tipple. I’ve had some of that before. Lovely stuff.

If you didn’t know, the bottle tops can be collected, as different tops have the horse in various stages of gallop. It’s a nice touch.

The eldest son has nabbed the top when I've emptied said contents. Thanks for the info G, rep due when I can. Enjoy your Basil Hayden, never heard of it, so let us know what it is like mate.

PS - there are 8 tops to collect. See the letter by the rear hoof of the horse. When you get all eight it spells out BLANTONS and shows the horse in different stages of the gallop.

Cheers, but at the price it costs I doubt I'll be supping 8 bottles of it mate.

I still much prefer American stuff to Scotch. I ventured back for a bit with some J&B but the taste reminds me too much of my whiskey and lemonade days as a youngster and the injuries that would ensue.

I got some gentleman jack instead and could drink it all day.

Exact opposite with me mate (until I quit drinking).

We were into G n R and all that in the early 90s, so obviously like sad acts we smoked marlboro and drank JD. Too many cringeworthy moments and an incident of seriously overdoing it meant I could never drink Jack again by the time I was 19.

God no

I can take it or leave it and will go months without a drink.

This will be my last bottle till i have a drink on my brthday in February

I don't drink loads but drink regular if that makes sense, unless I'm on a night out then I end up rotten.

I've been suffering all day with a fucking hangover from hell. Just lost my willpower and cracked open that Blanton's...oh I say, nice tipple this is. Better stick to the three or four like.

I see this on offer sometimes, is it a decent Bourbon? I had some Bullitt recently which was nice, how does it compare with others?

Yeah it’s lovely. Of the relatively cheaper bourbons like Buffalo trace and Bulleit I’d say this is the best.
