Anders Behring Breivik killed 77 people in a massacre in Norway (HO)

The far-right fanatic Anders Behring Breivik, who murdered 77 people in Norway, had plastic surgery to make himself look like an Aryan Nazi, the head of the country’s intelligence service believes.

 

“He must have had a facelift,” said Janne Kristiansen, head of the PST, Norway’s domestic intelligence agency. “You do not have that Aryan look naturally in Norway. Hitler would have had him on posters. He has the perfect, classic Aryan face.”

 

Breivik’s friends have suggested that he had plastic surgery to his chin, nose and forehead in America.

 

Security chiefs also think that Breivik, 32, wanted his 1,500-page “manifesto”, which details his preparations for the twin attacks, to be full of mysteries like Dan Brown’s thriller The Da Vinci Code, to keep him in the public eye for years.

 

Breivik’s claim in the manifesto to have been inducted into a secretive order of Knights Templar in London in 2002 to fight Islam has confounded some observers; but a Norwegian intelligence source signalled that he might have deliberately embellished his claims with falsehoods to excite conspiracy theorists.

 

“He wants it to be like a Da Vinci Code novel,” the source said. “He has created a mystery, and as long as that mystery is there, his message will remain in the public domain.”

 

During a 10-hour interrogation on Friday, Breivik asked how many people had died in his July 22 rampage. Police said he “showed no emotion” when told he had killed eight with a car bomb in Oslo and that 69 had died during his shooting rampage at a youth camp on the island of Utoya.

 

Norwegian police revealed yesterday that he had considered attacking other high-profile targets, reportedly including a royal palace and the ruling Labour party’s headquarters.

 

In his manifesto he suggests dressing up as a fireman and burning scores of delegates at a political party conference with a flame thrower. Another proposal is to send anthrax by post to politicians and other figures who support a multicultural society.

 

Breivik undertook extensive research into how he could acquire it, and his manifesto includes a draft letter — addressed to Jose Manuel Barroso, president of the European commission — that would be seeded with the deadly bacteria.

 

He claims that the UK is one of several European countries that is in the “imminent danger zone” because of its liberal attitude towards foreigners.

 

North Sea oil rigs and nuclear power plants in Britain have been put on alert because he identifies them as potential targets.

Today is the first day Breivik has access to media. No internet, but from now on he can read papers, listen to radio and watch the 15 TV-channels they have available in the prison he is held. He got a collection of news of his defence today, from the first 5 days from all the biggest norwegian papers + CNN and a few other international news media. I seriously doubt he will react any different after this though, which again should build up under his insane diagnosis.
