I think Trump will win again for the simple reason that hate is more powerful and easier to conjure than hope, especially in bleak times.  The politics of hate and division have gradually crept over the UK and the US exploding to the forefront in 2016.  I don't know how we get out of this mess.

Hoping Kamala Harris will give people an added incentive to vote, as apathy (and Covid) could again be a decisive factor.

Apathy is not an issue here right now -- as divided as I have ever seen the country but also the most politically engaged.

That's good to hear, compared to the UK where apathy reigns. I wonder why the difference?  Got a feeling it may have something to do with the media who seem to widely ridicule and hold Trump to account, so voters think there's a chance to rid themselves, though I'm sure there's many factors at play.  Not so here where the Tories have got it all sewn up.

Good shout that. Trump only really has Fox News in his corner save for a few crackpot blogs. The Tories have basically everyone except the Guardian and Daily Mirror (such as it is),.

Imagine going to the lengths of running for, becoming and enduring the worst ever presidency, then having your name forever attached to failure, incompetence, corruption and nepotism long into the history scholars dredging up Inconsequential themes to eek out a biography so the kids can eat, just so you can have higher pressure shower heads.

Gotta admire the long game.
