Anybody been to Notodden? If so is it any good?

I've been driving past it on my way to Oslo from Stavanger and back when I've taken the mountain route.

Driving past it is what you usually do, unless you are into blues and are going to their blues festival or like in my case is a bit hungry as its the first real sign of civilasation for hours when driving over the mountains from Bergen and Stavanger.

Its a small place, around 8.000 people are living there so I cant really imagine it being the most lively place on earth, they probably have a pub or two and a local hotel.

Are you going there? If so why?

I'm going over in a few weeks to stay with some friends, I was told it is pretty quiet. It's Norway, so I'm assuming there's plenty of beautiful scenery. That and the drinking should get me by.
