So every time a player is close to retiring and hasn't won the PFA player of the year award we'll give it to them?

Scholes next then? Lampard the year after? Maybe Carragher?

It's laughable. He has been excellent player no doubt, but the reason he never won the award is because every year there has been someone better. Usually several someones.

I've got a mate on the inside and he's tipped me off with who's going to win the awards for the next five seasons and the reasons why. Keep it under your hats:

09/10: Bobby Charlton

For services to Actimel yogurts

10/11: Lou Macari

For consistently serving up outstanding fish and chips in his chippy round the corner at Old Trafford.

11/12: Lee Sharpe

For services to reality television and for sticking it up Abi Titmuss.

12/13: Remi Moses

For parting the Red Sea and leading the Jews out of Egypt.

13/14: David May

Despite never even being nominated, May has managed to worm his way onto photographs of the previous four winners with their trophy despite doing fuck all, so it's only fair he wins it this season.

In all seriousness, I thought the players voted for this award? If so then how on earth can this possibly have happened, really?

Either the players arent really the ones voting, or there has been some heavy brainwashing going on.

I dont care if he plays for Man United, he's a good player and has been a very good player for a long long time, but never has he been good enough, or even played enough, to be voted player of the season. No way.

Something's Fucked up somewhere.

Compared to the one they prepared had Gerrard or Ronaldo would have won it where there would have been nearly 30 goals to choose from... ridiculous decision.

It's like when they gave Denzil Washington the Oscar for that trash Training Day. A most ridiculous decision. Giggs' only stand out game this season was against Derby in the Cup.

Not quite the same.

Denzel should have won the previous year for 'The Hurricane' but they gave it to Russel Crowe for 'Gladiator.' Then wen Denzel won, Russel should actually have won for 'A Beautiful Mind.' The history books should be amended and the Oscars swapped.

Does anyone not think it's quite funny that the team of the season has Giggs and Gerrard as the central midfielders?

Sure they can both play in that position, but it's hardly their regular positions.
