and that's why we'll never win the league under rafa..

We'll never agree on that, then. Especially the first was as blatant as they come.

For the second one you could argue, that Torres would lose the ball anyway, but we'll never know as the defender took him down from behind without getting a touch on the ball.

They showed them in replay on Setanta, Sonko gets the ball first both times.

We lost. It happens. It'll happen again.

Disappointing thing is the more games you lose to the likes of Reading, the more you have to take points away to the teams higher up the league.

But it shouldn't happen. There is no need to make wholesale changes from week-week. Sissoko has had a mare this season and should be nowhere near the 1st team and if Crouch is going to play he needs to be played as a striker & not on the LHS of a front 3. We lacked composure and width. We have 3 "wide" players in Kewell, Babel, Benayoun and none of them started yesterday.

I would like to say that what Barry Wom has posted is what the majority of Away Liverpool supporters feel.

Great post's Barry. Its a shame about the "head in the sands, brigade".

WE WILL NEVER WIN THE LEAGUE UNDER THIS NEGATIVE MANAGER

Sad but true.

To see people blaming the referee and/or bad luck is unbelievable. There's always an excuse isn't there?

That team should have beaten Reading. However, agree on Sissoko and also on the formation.

rafa is too fucking smart for his own good. with these shit teams, just pick your best team, in your regular formation and you'll piss it. but he can't help but fuck about. we have to accept under rafa we'll be nothing but a cup side.

right i'm off to bed to get some kip before the fight later.

Very, very reluctantly, I have to agree. In private I've said he outsmarts himself with his team selections. He just cannot resist the temptation to mess around with the side. He may have won two la liga titles in spain but he isnt going to do that here.

And he wouldnt last a season at Real either.

Far too often strange team selections have cost us. I think he's also got lucky with it a few times which others have taken as tactical brilliance.

There's no point finishing the season strong, supposedly due to rotation, if you're out of contention at the end of the first half. And that's what we'll get with Benitez.

Sort it out Rafa, for god's sake.

Agreed. He is very stubborn & I get the impression that he doesn't want anyone - opposition managers, pundits or fans to be able to 2nd guess his team selection.

Rafa is a very intelligent man and a great tactician, but he overcomplicates things. It is a shame but I am convinced now that we will not win the league under his management. Too many changes and too many mistakes.

We can argue about this till the cows come home but at the end of the day all we need to know is just what was the threat we were trying to deal with ?..........

I thought it was simple; to take 3 points or at the very least, come away with at least a point on a ground we thrashed them on only a matter of weeks ago.

The fact we didnt means (gulp!) a manager like coppel learned something from that defeat but Benitez didnt. Except perhaps a streak of arrogance?

that is very naive though, maybe if we field our reserves you will say that team should have beaten reading.

what your really saying is Gerrard and Torres should have beaten Reading because they were playing with 9 other players who don't really score in the league and some of whom were in the wrong positions anyway

Who played out of position?

3 strikers - all played upfront, not out wide, upfront.

3 central midfielders - all played in midfield

4 defenders - all played in defence

Goalie - You get the point.

The team we put out should have beaten Reading. Naive my arse. Look the word up.

You've proved pretty consistently that you talk shite.

Soon as I heard the team selection I feared the worst to be honest. One thing about Rafa's rotation is that unlike fergusson - who might swap one or two players at a push - Rafa makes wholesale system changes and the players often haven't got a fucking clue what they're supposed to be doing.

Soem times it comes off and he looks like a genius, others he looks daft. As Shanks once said: 'Football is a simple game made complicated by fools'

The mancs won a trebble playing virtually ever match with the same side until the important players were fit to drop, you just can't go changing formations and using perosnel which you know are sub-standard, against any opponent, if you expect to win the league.

Voronin was on the wing and working the right and Crouch looked positioned wide too at times which was nonesense

3 CMs one of which gives the ball away far too much and never scores the other is a DM who doesn't score either

it should have been a 442 with 2 wide players or even Gerrard on the right and Lucas in midfield one of Kewell or Babel on the left and 2 up front, even without Torres im sure that would have had a better chance at 3 points

Because a player goes to the right it doesn't make them a winger any more than it makes Gerrard a defender or Striker when he pop up in those areas.

the difference is Gerrard isnt a limited player and can play those positions better than most 'specialists', Voronin and Crouch are limited players and playing them in a 433 is madness

didnt we do something similar against the Arsenal at anfield? it looked shit then and it looked shit again
