Monday Oct 3:

The annual video of the players getting their FIFA cards come out today. Good fun as always, Jota and Kostas did a great job presenting it. Ox was conspicuous by his absence though. Usually this is his thing. It’s always interesting seeing how players react to their ratings though. Some of them can be right whiny bastards about it and others don’t give a fuck. The man who gives the least fucks is clearly Bobby. He was told his rating had dropped and he didn’t flinch. Genuinely not arsed, because he doesn’t really have any ego that man. Fantastic mentality.

Trent always seems offended that he’s being undersold. Usually that’s fine, but when he’s playing like he is right now he should be grateful for what he’s given. Mo is a funny one too. He really cares about it, but for him it’s not so much about what rating he has, but it’s how it compares to the best players around the world. He was told he had 90 pace and that the highest on the game was 91, and straight away his antenna was up “did anyone in the Premier League get higher than me?”. He isn’t the fastest player in the league but it’s funny that he absolutely believes he is.

Gomez always seems quite sad when he gets his card and it’s usually because his passing and shooting ratings are horrendous. He always goes on about how his shooting is decent, especially compared to the other centre backs, but what he’s not getting is that the only time we’ve ever seen him hit a decent shot is in the training videos. His shooting in matches has been fucking brutal, and that’s what FIFA are going to base it on. He was fuming that Joel was 47 shooting and he was only 30, but Joel has scored a few goals.

I feel sorry for whoever did our FIFA ratings this year because they’ll have been high based on what we did last season, but they look laughable at the moment. Virgil and Mo are both 90 but if it was based on this season you could knock 10 off that easily. Same with Trent. His defending is 80, but based on this season it should be around the same as what Gomez has for shooting. Fabinho’s pace rating shouldn’t even be a number, it should just be a picture of a snail, while Keita’s fitness one should just be a ROFL emoji.

I genuinely don’t get why the other clubs aren’t kicking off either. It’s weird.

Been saying this for years but when you get Warnock, Bruce, Hodgson etc wanking themselves silly over the cheats instead of saying its not fair, the game won't change.

But ask for 5 subs in line with every other competition and it's fuckoff Johhny Foreigner, we invented the game.

Shower of cunts.

Sunday was the first time I have just shut off football and focussed on something else. What’s the point in getting engaged in the game, seeing everything for your team going perfectly (manager, recruitment, trophies) and then realise that as your team is running full tilt, Ben Johnson is cantering alongside you with his veins pumped full of cash waiting for the time where he will pull away again safe in the knowledge you can’t keep up.

Even in the times when we were dominant in the 70’s and 80’s and then United in the 90’s and 00’s you felt there was a chance and that teams could compete. Since the original Oil Cheat(TM) bought Chelsea, the game has lifted it’s skirts, pulled down it’s knickers and taken a right fucking.
