The opposition to a proposed Super League is pure hypocrisy in their reasoning,Sky and the new PL did the exact same thing back in 1992,but any more changes that see a few mega rich clubs become even more mega rich(including LFC) is the death of the game for a lot of us. Even as a middle aged man there is something magical about football,from a park kickabout to a European night and the possibilities of almost any result occurring,but any more of a power shift towards these greedy clubs (yes,us included) is these rich kids playing with their toys and deciding who wins before anything even starts.

They didn't though mate. All they did was enhance the game, teams could still get promoted to the PL.

IMO, it’s all fixable…

* The CL at the start of every season is every club who qualifies for Europe - 96 teams or whatever.

* 16 groups of 6 .

* Group winners = CL last 16, Runners Up = UEFA Cup last 16, Third = Conference League.

* Or have last 32 knock outs and everybody qualifies. I’m not precious.

* Allow clubs to do their own sponsorship deals for the competitions.

* England would get 7/8 places. All the big boys should qualify each season and if they don’t, they simply don’t deserve to be in it.

The sticking point would be that clubs would need less domestic games. In England, we’d need an 18 team league and / or dropping the League Cup. Then you have sides who simply exist (Everton, Palace, Villa, Southampton, yo-yo promotion sides etc) crying about it as they will lose out on income, despite the fact if they pulled their fingers out, they’d have good chances of competing at the top tables.

Tell these clubs that the side that qualify for Europe will give a % of their competition earrings to them for 5 years and if they aren’t competing after that, tough shit.
