Bit worried by Archer's attitude , has all the attributes in the world but doesn't seem great mentally.

He's renowned for being decent with the bat, not shown any of that at this level so far. Not going to have a go at the tail end though. Roy and Butler both got in on the wicket, yes the pressure is immense but they gifted their wickets due to stupid decisions. Denly was a bit unlucky with the ball that spat out of the rough, Bairstow and Stokes weren't great. Yesterday was also key, what with the shit performance in the Aussies second innings and what followed.

Congratulations to our Aussie posters, deserved to retain/win the Ashes. Over to the English selectors.

Don't think anyone can blame the tail for batting scores. On the whole both sides have been shite. Even Stokes take away the 135 and he's averaged 31.

Smith pretty much single handily been the difference.

Absolutely not , the bowlers have done a decent job generally compared to the batsmen , but from thinking Jofra might be the greatest thing since sliced bread,  his lacklustre efforts bowling and batting have been a bit chastening to that view. He almost seemed relieved to get out in the first innings.

Due to the WC any preparation for this series was limited, yet we end up playing Ireland who embarrassed us in our first innings. The warning signs were there, yet the selectors ignored them.

If these two get them through there should be a test match at Taunton next year. Can swap it with Lords.

I imagine there would be an emergency meeting in Number 10.
