Just got back in, have I missed anything desperate by England, well apart from a Nightwatchman being out cheaply?

Not really. We've been okay since the wicket.

Starc was understandably a bit rusty and didn't bowl straight enough to cause big problems. Cummins bowling much better. Hazelwood metronomical as always.

Cheers mate, wicket looks pretty decent still. Not a lot in it for the bowlers unless they put a shit load of effort in. It's only the overhead conditions preventing this from being a one sided contest between bat/ball.  Just need to play sensibly and wear them down.

letting the Aussies build pressure though. 2 runs in 7 overs.

125/2 at tea. Burns 62 no, Root 47 no. Decent session for England. Only losing the Nightwatchman, 100 partnership between Burns and Root. Pretty decent of Paine to under use Lyon who looked like their biggest threat, not like he was going for a load of runs either. Same again after Tea please. Long session coming up, weather and light permitting.

Great session that in the circumstances. I really like Burns, he’s a proper opener.

TBf he's looked a lot better in this innings so far.

Captains performance finally from Root.

Clouds fuck off

TBf he batted well in the second innings at Headlingley before he needlessly gave his wicket away. His innings did however set things up to begin with.

166/3 now, Hazelwood gets Burns to nick one to slips for 81. Catcher....fucking Smith. Hopefully this doesn't lead to a collapse after such a good partnership. A lot of pressure on Roy to perform.
