Five new sports for Tokyo and all have potential to be entertaining: baseball/softball, karate, surfing, skateboarding and speed climbing. The latter two must be held in an urban environment using temporary venues.

As much as I love it, it really has got too big, hasn't it?

There was something on the radio yesterday where they were saying that there will only be 3 medals contested in the climbing

Baseball will have been one of the home nation choices. Japanese love baseball

 

The average attendance at a Japanese baseball game is around 28,000 compared to the NBA's 17,000. The two highest watched national leagues by attendance are the MLB and NPB (US and Japanese baseball)
