Unemployment is artificially low now because all you have to do to qualify as "not unemployed" is not be claiming JSA. It makes the falling unemployment figure largely irrelevant. You could give all the 1.8m people "officially" unemployed people a zero hours contract at Amazon, on minimum wage, then give them five hours work a week. Problem solved. Full employment. And that's actually a kinder plan than IDS probably wants. He'd probably go with firing squads.

Sanctioned, receiving absolutely fuck all - Not unemployed

Shunted on to a different benefit, receiving even less money - Not unemployed

Zero hours contract earning fuck all - Not unemployed

Working part time - Not unemployed

"Self Employed" (These are the best as they mean that you can earn literally not a single penny) - Not unemployed

Doing an "apprenticeship", often little more than an excuse to pay someone £3 an hour - Not unemployed

These people, and the millions of full time workers on proper contracts that are paid less than £7.85 p/h (or £9.15 in London) do not earn a living wage. They do not earn an amount of money that allows them to live in dignity. That allows them not to live in constant fear.

In the words of the great Ivorian philosopher Didi*r Dr*gba, it's a disgrace.

One thing that could swing the vote is that first time voters will actually get the chance to do so, unlike in the general election in January. Where the conservative led government announced that for bureaucratic reasons it was too late to get them registered. Baring in mind polls reckon about 80% of the youth in Greece will vote no this could be quite significant. It possibly also suggests that the Troika's real aim of regime change in Greece could be a little more difficult than they think as presumably a lot of those that were prevented from voting in January would vote for Syriza.

It's hard, wanting to see the Euro completely collapse, but wondering how much shit would happen if it actually did.

2008 would look like a mild headache in comparison.

However much you may despise capitalism the collapse of the Euro would be a disaster and those that would suffer most would the poor and vulnerable . With the mountain of debt the UK has we would be in deep shit immediaely if our biggest trading partners imploded and defaulted on debts.

I can't see the Euro collapsing on the back of a Greek exit. There's far, far too much at stake for the EU to let that happen. It'll drop massively in the currency markets at first then rally as it's true value is realised once the markets recognise what a millstone Greece actually was. Though the right-wing parties across Europe will hammer away via the media to destabilise the Euro.

Grexit from the euro will certainly put a stop to current EU expansionism for a good while and none of he far eastern European states will get a look in for years. Whilst the EU stabilises itself and speaks with Cameron over plans for a two/three-speed EU.

That's what happens when so called leaders bow down to a small group of thieving, villainous, corrupt, oligarchic, greedy and selfish scum.

If our leaders and their corporate paymasters really cared, we'd have instant enquiries into the tax havens, we'd know where the money had gone to, we'd know how the "City of London" and "Wall Street" have co-conspired in their corruption, because it'd be plastered all over the news, taking down the fake euro, the fake pound, and the fake dollar with it. The banks would be allowed to fail, there'd be huge criminal proceedings. There'd be huge debt relief.

I'm not standing up for a bunch of psychotic criminals. The euro should fail, the pound should fail, the dollar should fail, the City of London should fail, Wall Street should fail, the big banks should fail. It's a mess we can't even comprehend, and the scum holding Greece hostage are our so called European leaders bowing down to corporations and dreaming of the TPP.

They can all fuck themselves, it'll end eventually. The only question is how badly it ends.

Russia will step in and help Greece? Start of deperate times?

You have to admire them if they tell the troika to fuck off - true democracy in action.

But it will kick off an extended campaign of subterfuge and scaremongering by the right wing corporate governments. We know how that ends.

What?
