I think he really needs a rest.  We're risking a Michael Owen-esque injury in my opinion, playing him every minute of every game.

 

I know some will say "but we depend on him completely for so much" but that's exactly why we can't afford to have him get a long-term injury.  If he plays 90 minutes in both our next two games I'll be surprised if he isn't injured; he's already long-overdue for one as a player with so much fast-twitch muscle playing so many minutes.  Now that he has his goal after that mini-drought, let him sit and come on as a sub against Swansea and Leicester.

Agree in theory, but I don't see anybody stepping up in his absence. I reckon he'll need to keep going until Sturridge returns.
