Bobby’s penalty has just enough power to beat the Genk keeper who got a good hand on it.

We go through 4-3 on pelanties after a 1-1 draw in 90 minutes.

Genk a good side and shaded it in normal time for me.

A tough quarter final ahead as the lads travel to Italy to take on a strong Juventus side.

Norris and Quansah both had excellent games - Comfortably the best players for us today.

I thought Genk's number 8 had a good game and scored a cracking goal to boot.

The stats from Flashscore if anyone's interested:

Halftime - Stoke 0 Liverpool 0

Not been the best half of football you'll ever see. We've had the majority of the ball but haven't really done anything with it. All nice and neat up to the Stoke defensive third and then we give the ball away cheaply.

Stoke look happy to let us have the ball and try and hit us on the counter. Mrozek has only had 1 save to make, which he pushed round the post.

Stoke 0 Liverpool 1

Bobby Clark with the opening goal. A misplaced pass is picked up by Cannonier in the Stoke half. Oakley drives forward and plays in the overlapping Clark to his left. Bobby finds a tidy finish beyond the home keeper.

Stoke down to 10 for the last 8 minutes or so. Heavy tackle on Bobby Clark after the ball had gone out for a throw sparked a bit of handbags between both sides. The ref dismissed the Stoke number 5 who clattered Clark. Couldn't see if it was a straight red, or 2 yellows as the cameraman was focused elsewhere.

Lee Jonas picked up a yellow card for his part in the pushing and shoving following the tackle.

Stoke 0 Liverpool 2

That should be that. Frauendorf makes a run down the right and is found by Mabaya. Frauendorf then dances along the byline before rolling the ball across to Harvey Blair who has the simplest of tap-ins into an empty net.

The 23s are in action this afternoon as they face Preston in the Lancashire Senior Cup second round.

The game kicked off at 14:00 and is currently goalless - The game is not being televised, so keeping an eye on a couple of Twitter feeds and the Echo.

We've lined up as follows:

Pitaluga; Bradley, Quansah, Rhys Williams, Norris; Clarkson, Corness, Clayton; Bearne, O'Rourke, Musialowski.

Subs: Oscar Kelly, Sean Wilson, Koumetio, Dixon-Bonner, Woltman.

How good is Bobby Clark? Does he have first team potential?

He's done well at the 18s level this season since coming in - Got to keep in mind that he only turned 17 in February.

In his limited appearances for the 19s/23s, he's struggled a little with the physical side, but that of course is not uncommon for players his age.

If you're after a comp, then I'd liken him to Jack Grealish stylistically.

Not got a lot of pace, but is very good with the ball at his feet - almost appears quicker on the ball than off it.

Comfortable on the ball and has an eye for little through balls. He has played mainly from the left side this season, but he'd have no problem playing in a central midfield role if needed. I'd certainly like to see him play centrally more often for the remainder of this season.

Like his old man, he's got a little bite about him too, so he's not afraid to put his foot in from time to time.

As with most young attacking players, there's room for improvement on the defensive side of his game, which will come over time, and if he's moved to a central role.

He has been up and trained with the first-team squad this season, so the coaching staff certainly believe he has the potential to make the steps in the future.
