When David Usher first began shooting his mouth off about writing for someone other than TLW, I was disappointed, but not angry with him. If ESPN were interested in his services, how could he be expected to turn them down? For most sports journalists, the ultimate dream is to write for ESPN or BBC, so if that opportunity presented itself to Usher, he was always going to take it.

 

Unlike other TLW posters, who were infuriated with the idea and argued that nobody was bigger than the forum, I thought it was a good move and would serve the forum in the long-term. That was, until his "Melgarejo 'try before you buy' deal makes sense" hit the ESPN site yesterday.

We should just tell ESPN the answer is no, we won't sell him to internet sports site rivals. Obviously if Top Gear Online came in with a fee over £50 then we should seriously consider it because they're not a football site.

Can't believe it was only a few years ago that we were destroying the likes of Top Gear Online in the ratings. I hope all the fucking mongs that said we needed to change servers are happy now.

His agent has said "TLW aren't in the Forum Champions League and David E. Usher needs to be writing at that level."

 

They've even tweeted a pic of him trying to dress trendily like an extra from 70s series U.F.O. and exhuding 'smug.'
