Hi everyone, hope you're doing well. I have started my own podcast over the last few months as a weekly distraction from the weird and wacky times of 2020. The topic is football. Of all shapes and sizes. I have kept back on promoting this on TLW (thanks for permission Dave) because I knew I was getting a guest on. I think this is the most interesting show we've done so far as TLW's own Stu Monty talks about life in the semi-pro leagues, how COVID has affected their seasons and we also go on to talk about PPV, Project Big Picture and a revamp of the Europa League. Would really appreciate a listen and a subscription. This is a new lockd…

I've not even thought about this game. I'm not getting into this season too well to be honest. I got the match completely wrong on Tuesday and thought we'd struggle. I genuinely have no clue how this will go. I think we'll bring matip back in. Unfortunately I also think we'll bring Bobby back in. My guess of a team is Alisson, Trent, robbo, matip, Gomez, Henderson, Gini, keita, firmino, Salah, mane. 1-2 mane and Jota.

Honestly, the prolonged use of 2019 one is irrationally irritating me. This is the Members Forum. We’re better than that. I think we’ll recoup the Werner money by selling a few fringe players so the money is there, should another opportunity present itself. People have said on here for years that improving the first XI is the way to improve the squad. Seems a bit daft now because the only thing we can try to improve is squad depth.

Well this promises to be a bit of a handful of a game. I think we're going to need to play a whole lot better than we have been playing. I don't see klopp bringing Williams into this game and I don't believe Phillips is eligible. So here's my guess at a team Alisson, Trent, robbo, Gini, Gomez, Henderson, milner, Shaq, firmino, salah, mane. Maybe Jones will get a go before Shaq . I don't feel good at all about this game and I can't help for no rational reason other than they're northern italian to think of the Florence game which much be more than a decade ago (one where I went to Florence and never made it to the match an…

Back when we used to be allowed to go the match, 5.30 on a saturday was always my favourite. Get out for a few before the game, maybe all day depending on the other matches on, then out after - a few near the ground, then head to town and keep on going to till can barely walk. And as it's halloween i wouldn't even get it in the neck as her and the kids like to go out trick or treating which i refuse to get involved with. Have duck apple like i did as a kid you americanised little bastards. So onto this one, which is going to be nothing like that at all. Another fucking miserable one. The pubs are shut, the kids are going to be fuming as they can't trick or tr…

A quick turn around for us, but I guess that's needed as there's another quick turnaround for the CL game on Tuesday. I don't know what I think about an 8pm kick off. I don't think I'd like it if we were going the ground, although it's be ok if it was away and I was going the pub. But it's better than 12.30 no matter what. I think we'll see some midfield rotation, but not too sure what that'll look like. My guess is we'll go with our normal front 3 and I reckon all 3 of them might be rotated out on Tuesday. I'm also guessing alisson and matip won't be available. I suspect thiago will be missing too. And who'd bet against Brewster scoring? It would sum up our …

I have nothing much more to say except these are shit, i expect lots of rotation and a comfortable win. 5-0 Minamino hatrick, Jones & matip.

I hate saturday at 12.30. We are nearly always out of sorts. and we're never at our best after internationals. Add to the mix covid and injuries (well 1 in particular), this is the least I have looked forward to a derby in a long time. 10 years to the day since the cunts last beat us in a game that imo doesn't count as it was under hodgson and he was only there to make the football bad enough to get our supporters into hating H&G. After the Villa debacle, we absolutely have to put that right, I wish this game had happened right after it. I would make a bunch of changes, but I am not sure klopp will. I would have fabinho at centre back. i would even consid…

I'm still fucking fuming from the derby. So on from shit officals in England who are onboard with assault to pedantic shite in Europe where there'll be yellow cards for coming within a yard of a player who throws themselves on the floor. It's going to be a tough time without vvd for the rest of the season and I'm sure how the games come thick and fast won't be too useful for the glass bodies of matip and Gomez. I think we'd have seen some rotation in midfield regardless of possible injuries to thiago and I'm guessing thiago isn't back yet. So for the line up, the back 5 picks itself and I think with fab, hendo and Gini in midfield and while I expe…

Two years left on his contract. Relatively underpaid. £83m release clause. His Brazilian mate has fucked off. People are starting to take note of just how good he is. When do we start to worry?

So back to watching games at home then rather than the pub. I don't know why, but I have a strange feeling about this one. I assume thiago is still on covid leave, if so, I expect the same team as last week against arsenal. I'm going for a 1-1 with a pen from Salah.

Right then nerds, name 5 players who have been managed by Kenny Dalglish and David Moyes.* * If there are more than 5 I am not responsible, just going off what I've been told. Anyway, you've got to get the 5 I'm thinking of.

So the 2nd time in a week we've got arsenal. Have the stories for this one started yet about arteta has klopp's number? Team, barely an idea, but I'm guessing a similar team to last week Adrian, Williams 1, Kostas, Williams 2, another cb, milner, Jones, Shaq, Jota, bunhead, mini. Let's fuck these cunts, I've nothing more to say. 9-0

So it's a double arsenal week. I'm looking forward to this as I think our players will want to put the charity shield and the league game at their place right. I think we'll be proper at it and they can do their defending shit all they like, we'll batter them. So I'm guessing we'll play most of the fellas we normally would and there won't be any room for those who did well last night. So my guess is Alisson, Trent, fabinho, vvd, robbo, thiago, Gini, keita, Salah, firmino, mane. 3-0, Salah hatrick.

So this is a chance to give a load of players a run out and some fitness. I thought this season would be a proper U23 team in both domestics cups, but as there has been so little pre-season and europe hasn't started yet forcing us to rotate, I think this will be fringe players. Adrian, Willaims, Kostas, 2 of Billy/Matip/Gomez/SVDB depending on fitness, Thiago, Jones, Milner (unless chamberlain is fit), Jota, Origi/bunhead, minamino. despite their 5-0 win in the last round, we should have no issues here. 4-0. Mini, Bunhead and 2 for Jota.

So I can't make my mind up about this one. I don't know if this is a good time to play them while they're bedding in loads of players or a bad time as we've not got ourselves back to our normal tight selves yet and it's a fuck up of a season start with everything that's happened. There was plenty to worry about from last week, but equally it was great to see Salah being a real handful again. I don't know if chillwell is fit and ready to go for them yet, but I can't help but think Salah will have a great time against Alonso if that's the set up. As for our team, well I guess it's too early for thiago. I expect the back 4 of last week. In midfield …

This is a little earlier than I would normally post, but I've got a strange couple of days ahead and not sure if I will be online much. So the defence of the title begins - or the attack as Klopp would have it. I am really happy to be getting on with football, it's almost felt on hold since lockdown even though we've won the league since then. It certainly hasn't felt like there was much riding on the outcome of 90 mins since the A.Madrid game. Even if something happens in the "transfers in" this week, I don't really think the player would likely be part of the squad for the game - are we back to an 18 for match day? I know it is 3 su…

What a season from the skipper. He’s my Player of the Year although I admit that sentiment has contributed to that. Realistically I can’t tell you he’s been significantly better than Van Dijk or Mané (if you want to throw Trent and Robbo in there too that’s fine), but context is king and given where he has come from and the way he’s had to win over his doubters I’d say that his overall achievement is greater, especially as his impact on those around him is matched only by Van Dijk. Lifting the European Cup last season helped him massively. It removed a lot of the doubts people had over him as a captain and it gave him a little swagger. You can see…

Its back!!! Usually there is a smattering of people asking when the thread is coming back, but this season I have only seen 1 mention, so this is dedicated to you Rico. For those that haven't read the previous threads, a bit of explanation as it is a little complicated, in this thread I'll be looking at various ways that we could track what we might need to do to probably finish in the top 4, and I think it might be amiss if I did not include what we might need to win the damn thing as well! To begin with, I need to decide what points target is needed to finish 4th. I've looked at the points totals for 4th for the past 10 seasons, and…

So I thought pre-season was over. And here it is back again. This time against Blackpool. I've absolutely no idea who'll be involved outside of milner - although klopp said only 9 players have gone on international duty. I guess it'll be the last chance for Brewster to make a mark if he's around and hopefully hendo, ox and Trent are fit enough to get some minutes. I'd say Shaq too, but that's just being silly isn't it? 10-0.
