Something light and easy to break the tedium of the international break. As ever, please mention the lyric rather than just posting a you tube link. I’ll open with “This night has opened my eyes” by the Smiths which mentions the News of the World.

Hopefully self explanatory. We went to watch a match today so got the tube. A women got on with 2 live rats in her cleavage, sitting quite cheerfully in a neck scarf. She explained to the rest of us she had recently adopted them from the wild.

As title. My superpower is being able to find massive fuck off potholes in the road despite them not being on my driving line. They are like a magnet to my car and I veer off and find them every time without fail.

Finally the golf season starts again, and we can upgrade the thread title from Golf 2022 to Golf 2024 ( I cant be the only one annoyed that we did not have a Golf 2023 thread) Really close at the top of the leaderboard after the first day at The Sentry tournament.

Anyone have a handle on how this this is calculated? Just went to buy my kid a motor and was knocked back. I then paid off a load of plastic and stuck the car on a card. I owe noone anything, have a good bit stashed but just do not get it. It is a strange thing. What else do they look into?

Collided with a small coastguard plane on landing they seem to think. A very lucky escape for all those on the Airbus. Sadly not so much for 4 of the 5 people in the small plane. Horrific.

Getting this in early, as the only way I’ll be up at midnight is if my fifty one year old prostate decides I need a trip to the bathroom. Hope you all have a fantabulous New Year’s Eve and that 2024 brings you happiness, joy, laughter, good health, prosperity, and the ability to sleep through the night without needing to go to the toilet.

Let's talk butts! Anyone else collect rainwater? Got 2x 220ltr butts attached to main drainpipe, have served me well the past few years. If there was a drought i would have roughly 2 months worth of water to sort the garden and greenhouse with. I do however have a massive crack in one of the butts and have gone and purchased a plastic welding kit. It's a soldering iron that comes with metal staples to weld the crack together. I do love my butts and the bigger the better and seeing one of my butts hurt brings a tear to my eye.

A fantastic campaigner for justice for all sorts of people who have suffers at the hands of officialdom, and a journalist who was never afraid to ask the right questions. RIP, John. You’ll be missed. Posted this on the FF but thought it worth posting here for those of you who just come for the GF arguments!

Anyone ever heard of this? Someone was telling me there's supposed to have been a few accounts of people in Bold Street temporarily experiencing the place as though it was in the past, complete with horse and carriages and whatnot. https://www.birminghammail.co.uk/black-country/womans-horror-time-slip-changes-27986873 The road in question is Bold Street, in Liverpool. And a 'famous' example reportedly took place in 1996 when an off-duty police officer, and a woman in her 20s, were quickly aware of everyone on the street wearing clothes from the 1940s and 1950s. A book shop also allegedly turned into an old clothing store, while a van from the '1950…

Baker St Bar from the film Cocktail. Cracking little boozer, 12 dollars for a brekkie and two cocktails. The toilet was an old fashioned filthy pub one but I wouldn't have wanted it any other way. I had two screwdrivers..... the barman didn't throw anything around which was annoying. Got rid of the hangover though.

Good citizens of TLW. I come to you as an audio ignoramus, who has just purchased a portable music player and subscribed to TIDAL. I have never habitually listened to music, but am in need of relaxation and moving away from spending time on the interweb. I like classical and blues, and am well versed in same, but know the square root of fuck all about other genres. So, who are the contemporary music artists I should be experimenting with. For a frame of reference I dislike everything I've ever heard on the radio from Coldplay, but really liked the Bond song Billie Eilish did? So, any recommendations?
