Vaguely toying with the idea of getting a dog, but need some advice. I love them, but think they are filthy creatures (hair, saliva, piss and shit everywhere). Can anyone advise which breed might be best taking into account the following criteria? As clean as possible Child friendly OK to spend day indoors alone (3 days out of 7) Needs walking, but not to working dog levels Easy to train Basically, I want a dog that is an easy-to-look-after family pet. Don't get me wrong, though - if I get one, it'll get my full commitment, but I want to get the right one (if I do at all). This won't be an imminent decision, but I want to try and start getting m…

Well, I did have the idea before it got brough to the forum masses, and as i seriously lack imagination i'm sticking with it. All star slog on Stick Cricket. You'll have to Register TheGhost, and then pick the 50 over match. This should mean that it'll be a one attempt thing, because who can be arsed playing through 50 overs more than once. If you can though, feel free. Play as many times as you like, post up some piccies as proof of your final score (i suggest a pic of the scorecard). I reckon post as many top scores as you can be arsed with and the highest score on the deadline wins it. Acceptable? EDIT, heres the link... http://www.stickcricket.com/game…

Hi, I'm due to get married later this year, i've been with my bird for 4 and a half years and lived with her for 2. However, i've had serious doubts recently as all I have done for the last couple of months is argue about absolutely anything with her. She is quite highly strung and over-reacts about very trivial things such as my driving, my laid back attitude, my work (we worked together until recently) and our respective families, hers are very close knit whereas mine don't really get involved in my life that much. She hates my brother and would love to see him run over by a very big bus. She is always talking about having kids as she is a bit older than me. I have…

TIA has got the ball rolling and with some style and competence too. He has set a challenge of match predictions but with a little twist, there's a shitload of stupid Irish teams in there that I've never heard of. The games we have to give win, lose or draw for: Carnegie Irish Premier Division Armagh City v Donegal Celtic, 15:00 Ballymena v Larne, 15:00 Cliftonville v Newry, 15:00 Crusaders v Glenavon, 15:00 Dungannon Swifts v Lisburn Distillery, 15:00 Limavady v Glentoran, 15:00 Linfield v Coleraine, 15:00 Portadown v Loughgall, 15:00 Nationwide Conference Burton Albion v York, 15:00 Dag & Red v Aldershot, 15:00 Exeter v Tamworth, 15:00 G…

I want to get a bike that I can get a toddler / child seat on the back. Only want to do Wirral way and lanes and by ways of leafy wirral so doesn't need to be a rugged mountain bike. There seems to be an in between type - half mountain bike half straight handle barred roadster which seems to be what i want. Halfords had one for about £90 but quite heavy - Carrera one i liked - nice soft wide comfy seat ! was £199. Seats are about £75 so it will all get a bit pricey. Anyone got any tips - either on types or bike and seats with toddlers - or on prices - cheap places to get bikes etc. This is also my get fit plan for the summer. Does cycling help to lose a gut ?

Been digging borders, cutting grass, planting trees and putting up hanging baskets and it's only just occured to me. I've never seen a gardening thread on the GF before. Right, this is a bit of a long one, but bear with me, as I really need some advice here: Mrs Paul and I were lucky enough to buy our house, which is a big Victorian double-fronted semi, eight years ago, just before the house price insanity truly exploded. Mrs Paul had been left some money by a childless, but minted, great aunt when she was 18 and stuck it all into various investments. This basically gave us the massive deposit that allowed us to buy our gaff at that time. The house was bought from a developer and it had been flats before he put it back to one home again. We got a discount from him not to decorate or do the floorboards and that, so we got a bargain…

Hey folks, it's been a while since I've posted, but I figured this place was my best chance of getting help. I'll be in Toulouse from the 27th of this month until the 10th of May, and was wanting to catch the matches in a local pub. Does anyone know any good places? Any suggestions of things to do? How about any ideas on how to make my trip a little cheaper? Thanks for any help anyone can give me.

There's something about them that just irritates me. Maybe it's the full to the brim righteousness or the me so important looks on their faces. I don't care how much Petrol costs, so fuck off!

Anyone see this programme last night about the murder of the British backpacker Peter Falconio? His bird Joanne Lees came across as a bit of a cold hearted self centred bitch. Bryan Brown was good in it as the Northern Territory prosecutor. Read on Wikipedia that she's written a book for 250 grand as well.

I'm just getting into the Clash - have had London Calling for a while now and am giving the rest of their stuff a go as well now. Found this torrent of them on their busking tour in 1985. Busking in Hammersmith Station, 1985 Its dead good and well worth a listen.

Hiya Fellas, after months of confusion I finally have a laptop to call my own again after being confined to public computers while HP where busy spending months working out how to tell me my laptop was fucked beyond repair, so with my new one in tow I'm looking to fill my favourites list with your recommendations on where to use and essential programmes you believe I should be downloading, thanks for your help, Chris. P.S. Can someone send me an invite for Demonoid if it's still worth using?
