Waking up this morning to the thought that Boris Johnson is PM was enough for me.

Kind of two peas from the same pod. Unfortunately we live in a World where a lot of Morons are lapping it up. They can't comprehend the various layers of politics and just read the headlines which align to their own warped beliefs.

Some are so open about it, yet the masses still swallow their shit. The hard drive needs reformatting. Unfortunately we'd only fuck things up again.

In Internet and social media in particular have a lot to answer for.

Many people I used to consider smart are so easily influenced by what they read on social media that it's actually depressing.

I couldn't agree more mate. The internet is a fine thing, but it is not without its drawbacks. Like I said earlier, far too many people are influenced by Headlines and refuse to read past them. Lazy Journalism has never had it so good. Sensationalise a headline, start off by spouting a load of cack that backs up said headline and leave the important stuff to the sixth paragraph they know the majority won't be reading.

Dave Gorman made an interesting point last night when he was talking about online news media.  He said a few years ago, when the news was primarily in print and they only had about 48 pages to fill, there was a pressure to filter the stories down to those that were more or less true. Online, they have almost limitless capacity for publishing any random, baseless, implausible bullshit - and it gets equal billing with actual journalism.

One can only assume that he's never actually read any of our newspapers.

The Dems have turned into a paranoid bunch of whiny Hilary clones. They wont win next year. America is doing well, with growth and status.

Any growth the US has in on the back of successive upticks put in place by Obama, but you would expect a piece of shit like Trump to claim it as his own.

The one thing that should get Trump fired, and I am to this day staggered that he is still in office, was his act of craven cowardice in front of Putin in Helsinki. In front of Putin, who you could see had him by the balls, and when asked about Russian interference in the election he said he didnt believe it was them.m Then when he got back, he did his little press conference and said he actually said it was them.

You could not make this shit up, and Putin must wank himself daft every night having a US president in his pocket.

It used to be that America at least theoretically stood for something, for the rule of the kind of law that absolutely no one is above, for the key freedoms that make up the most important part of our human rights, and for justice.

America has flagrantly stood for self-interest since McKinley pioneered interfering with and exploiting other, weaker neighbouring economies, resources and governments in the early 20th century. It's been opportunistically disguised as isolationism from time to time - eg, until the time was right in WWI, secretly rearming Germany in the 30s, and until Japan forced the US's hand in 1941- but generally speaking it's been an invasive, rapacious pursuit of self for well over 100 years now.

The quicker this selfish, dumb twat is impeached, the quicker the US can try to get back her more respectable face and political guise (Republican AND Democrat)... of fucking the world over in the name of what's right - with the dutiful lemmings of the West licking her arse.

And her wonderful Constitution - where everyone is self-evidently born equal and is entitled to defend themselves and doesn't have to admit to anything that may incriminate them - can happily continue to allow kids to be slaughtered with guns in schools.

The news this morning that three diplomats put pressure on Ukraine by making it clear a state visit was on condition Ukraine announced an investigation is surely the end of Trump. Not sure the Republicans will be able to block this. The President saying something on a phone call is bad enough, but the whole state apparatus being used is quite another. This has become bigger than Watergate.

It is Trump though. He's going to fight like a bitch.

I'll be honest. as far as I can see , the only way he goes is via an election ( and even then he would go kicking and screaming ).

It seems these days you can brazen anything out as long as you are in power, and the majority of the great unwashed appear not to care about scruples in politicians anyway.

As it stands I think he has a pretty solid chance of securing a second term. It depends who the democrats nominate but if he’s running against Biden, Warren or (god forbid) Hillary - I have some serious worries. It’s going to be a mobilisation election and his base is fully motivated and mobilised, I don’t think you can say the same for many of the Democrat front runners (Sanders excluded, he has the best chance with his broad movement building imo)

Sanders was never going to win even the primary, much less a general election.

Trump will need every single person who voted for him last time and then some this time around -- that is not going to happen imo.

I totally agree, he still has an awful lot of imbeciles following his every shit move, but not enough. What has he actually done since becoming POTUS apart from being involved in one controversy after the other and tweeting bollocks?

You’ve only got to look at his tweets over the last 24 hours. He’s back to Democrat corruption and DRAIN THE SWAMP!

All the republican will vote for him, all the right will vote for him. We’re talking about extremely narrow margins. If the democrat goes in expecting to win they will lose. It’s about mobilisation, and mobilising traditional non voters is especially important.
