Stitched up at work

I've just been to a meeting with a supplier, they've not been doing well and I went with the end-user to give them a bit of a kicking. We did that, had a few minutes afterwards to take stock and talk about what we should do.

I've just got back and the shit house boss of the end user has sent an e-mail to my boss, his boss and the MD about how bad things are, and that they need to be controlled and obviously arent. Didn't copy me in, didn't tell me he was going to do it, and in my opinion has broken every fucking rule in the book.

Tried to call him but his phone is off, I've written and deleted 3 e-mails telling him what a shit house he is and consoled myself by sending him an invite for 8 Monday morning to have a fucking massive row. Cunt.

Why would anyone do that?

Not sure if I follow all the intricacies of that either but if I got the main point you've been bummed by a customer, right?

Don't take it personal, most jobs are about doing as little as possible and making sure you cover your ass, you just happen to be the most convenient ass cover in the politics of your man's office. He's probably behind schedule with something that isn't your concern and needs something else to blame for it.

Your boss understands this (that's how he got to be your boss), just make sure he hears your version of events, don't be a drama queen about it with him and you'll be alright.

If the end user is your customer you have fucked yourself actually. In my experience I'd only take a customer of mine to a supplier of mine if it was a pre-arranged audit, certainly not to tell the supplier (that I approved and placed on the AVL) that they're actually providing a shite service. Amongst other things you're measured by the performance of your suppliers...

Still, a shitty thing to happen and he could have been honest with you. He saw an opportunity to look good in front of his boss and you were a casualty of that. Hard lines.
