Tremendous series. I've watched them all over the space of a couple of months and I feel lost now there's no more SAMCRO in my life. The character development has been great. Jax went from being an ok sort of bloke in the first couple of seasons, to what I thought was an utter dick in season 3(?) in Ireland, and finally becoming a shrewd hardcase in S5. I felt sorry for Clay at the end of S5 as after everything he'd done all he wanted to do was to rebuild his life with Gemma and seemed genuinely rueful about his antics. The whole Pope thing was outstanding and I honestly didn't see it coming until Jax said he should take Tig into the warehouse to kill him. Classic bit of telly, that.

Some terrible acting mainly in Season 3, and Juice's acting isn't up to much. Overally the show gets an 8 from me. Thoroughly enjoyable stuff and I am again indebted to the GF for pointing me towards some ace telly.

Oh, a couple of bizarre cameos as well - David Hasselhoff as a porn baron and Sam Merlotte's little brother from True Blood as the kid they talked into being sucked off by the transvestite which was funny as fuck.

Also noticed that Bobby Elvis is in Batman Begins the other day.

It is a gem of a series and in seasons one.two and five I think have been outstanding.

Seasons three and four where not so good imo with some terrable acting and the storylines just so far fetched to be belived.

Really glad I kept with it as season five has seen betting acting and more importantly imo a bit more belivable.

Class. Was reading up about Lincoln Potter, I think he's a quality character, and I was wondering if he was based on Abraham Lincoln, who himself was a lawyer, right down to his look and the way he talks. "I'm the most curious of fellows" and there's a lot of fan speculation out there that he is actually John Teller, or his brother!

Just finished watching the first series and thought it was a bit of a slow burner but really picked up pace halfway through.

Starting the second series tonight. Looking forward to how the manage Opie's situation.

I really like season 2, Ethan Zobelle is a quality villain. The voiceover on the opening episode is class, Kurt Sutter talking about how every Tea Party headcase he's ever seen had exactly the same hair.

Isn't Kavanaugh the obvious comparison?

The actor who played Lincoln Potter, Ray McKinnon, has a new show that started last week called rectify about a man who is released from prison after 17 years following the overturning of his rape/murder conviction. Not seen it myself, but it sounds interesting.

I stopped watching this in season 5 mainly because I couldn't be arsed watching it on the laptop, but I have to admit I found it a bit tiresome in the sense that its only recourse when it wants to amp up the drama seems to be to just shock. It's just endless strife and conflict and very little humour anymore. Even looking at the preview images where the characters have all got their hands around each other's throats etc just makes you think it's only really got one gear now.

Sutter's obsession with his Mrs Katy Segal is also tiresome. I think the character is pretty despicable but she's the centre of the show now, plus she sings all the fucking backing songs and everytime she doesn't get an emmy Sutter goes apeshit on Twitter.
