If Henderson is on the decline, and Elliots figures are based on very few minutes over the last 365 days (because of injury) then the player you sign would need to improve on what we already have, no?

 

So you can be doing the passing and not the tackling, you can do the tackling and not the passing, Prowse is doing neither.

I'm fairly certain I posted last summer or maybe even the summer before that they need a couple of transfer windows where they walk away from deals. I'm sure every  club in Europe knows our final offer is our final offfer. Even City have managed to reign it in little bit, clubs know there is a line they will just say no thanks and move on.

 

The opposite is true of the mancs and now Chelsea. They will just keep offering more until they run out of time. Must be the best phone call in football to receive.

I think the reality is that if Utd get CL then they won't care. Once they are there they can start playing games again with the clubs but until they get there then every club knows they are desperate. It's partly why it's imperative to build from a position of strength.

Fucking hell, the lad has played 120 minutes for us, has 2 goals and 2 assists and could have had more. So he got sent off. Most players have a red mist moment in their careers. Suarez used to have multiple per season, but it didn't stop him being a great player for us. I'm not saying Nunez is going to be Suarez. But he's not even played the equivalent minutes of 2 matches yet and has a goal involvement every 30 minutes.

You've got a point Baz. I still think we should have driven a harder bargain and got him cheaper though. And those misses against Palace do not bode well, basic technique failure.

Have you watched haaland this season? He's had loads of those misses, many worse. Going back to Suarez, he missed loads too when he was first here, he didn't look like he had a clue how to shoot. He's having a shot every few minutes almost. He's going to miss some and he's clearly a bit over hyped to make a good impression. But he creates absolute havoc, which is exactly what we need as teams get very set against us. And our other forwards are going to benefit loads, like Salah did against Fulham. We'll get loads of goals like that this season where he cushions the ball into someone. 

 

Just give the lad time, he's going to look like a bargain as he's going to score loads. He's unconventional, but that's not going to stop him being great.
