  1. Even if we wanted to we will struggle to sign anyone this month due to our home grown quota..oh sorry, thought you said bad news!
  2. For someone that isn't bothered you reply (often not directly) to an awful lot of my posts with snide comments that try to defend FSG. Funny that. Also funny how for you, anything that could paint FSG in a negative light, is not likely true because it has not been categorically explicitly stated. Easy to deflect, smear and paint everything as conjecture or conspiracy when that is the case. I think I have been pretty consistent in saying that we needed players. I have also managed, inspite of no one from the club explicitly stating it, to see that the midfield is fucked. I have also got angrier that it was allowed to happen and concerned at the prospect that the owners won't be pragmatic and flexible and give Jurgen adequate funds to rectify it before it causes us potentially real long term damage. I must have missed all those posts from you where you have questioned or voiced any concerns with the FSG model in the last 6 months as we have slid out of the top 6. All I can recall are your snide comments towards anyone that raises anything that could vaguely be considered anti FSG.
  3. I remember it well because my mate was going to get Fowler but ended up getting Mcmanaman on his back and the following day the club accepted a bid from Barcelona for him!
  4. As usual, here comes Mr FSG to try and spin how wonderful our owners are. I haven't spun any conspiracies, unless of course you mean the "conspiracy" I and plenty others have been consistently spinning since the summer which is without investing in our midfield we were in big trouble. You have mainly met that with an arrogant complacent attitude, defending FSG at every turn. Yeah, keep on with that.
  5. That is probably too much for them. Probably most concerning for the owners, more than last night's game, will be that the malaise is spreading into the commercial arm. I was in the club shop before the Leicester game and there was a sign saying that unfortunately you couldn't get a shirt printed with Gakpo on it. Brought back memories of the time in the mid 90's when they ran out of "E's". Shirts sales with Ruddock and Mcmanaman spiked that night.
  6. See the links between Konate and Madrid are starting to increase. That will help FSG to fund part of the midfield makeover if we don't get CL.
  7. Woupd not put it past the club to be all part of the media campaign. The club leak it now and can then make it known that they want loan players now as they have planned to spend so much money in the summer and cannot afford both. Then in the summer, if we miss CL, we can pull out of it citing it is as the bright thing to do due to our sustainable model unfortunately caused by the "failure of Jürgen and the boys" to get CL. Hopefully the club really aren't that stupid. Suppose we will find out in the remainder of the month.
  8. The whole investment/sale is clearly pivotal. You have Newcastle and City that will spend like nation states. Utd that will probably be the same soon and Chelsea that supposedly are like FSG but have found a way to invest shed loads and still meet FFP. Finally you have Arsenal that if they CL will go up a level. Basically we will have to be a different proposition come next season otherwise we will always be fighting for 6th or 7th.
  9. Completely agree. Now it's used as a badge of honour as "how great plucky little Liverpool were to win a title when up against Man City". The sickening thing is up until Haaland, who did City buy that was a game changer for them to overtake us? They didn't, we just let them catch us up and overtake us. No other team will just sit back like we had to. Arsenal will spend and no one will be banging on about them being irresponsible/not sustainable for doing so.
  10. The bigger issue is waiting until we have multiple areas of the team to refresh to start doing anything. Remember back 2-3 summers when the club were "relaxed" over everything. You should never be relaxed. Liverpool in the 80's and Utd in the 80's never sat still. We have waited for the central heating to pack up and the roof to come in before deciding which one to spend on first. Now we are being told it's too expensive to do all at once. No shit Sherlock. That's why most fans asked to spend a bit more each summer as we knew you couldn't spend like City. Hopefully the club are massively bluffing ahead of a bringing in a couple now.
  11. Surely if you cannot sustain your position in the CL and your team has become one of the oldest in the league that shows that it hasn't been sustainable for quite a while right? FSG have allowed us to do the absolute bare minimum for the last 3 summers and now it is glaringly obvious. They have dumbed down expectations such that getting top 4 is now considered a great achievement and sell to buy is "not ideal" but acceptable. Gillett and Hicks really did us over because prior to them no one would have accepted that approach. Really sad to see
  12. Well FSG screwed our medical team when they were class.
  13. I wish our marketing team played in midfield. Their creativity (for excuses) is unparalleled.
  14. Yeah, but he left months ago and has been replaced.
  15. The dog and hedgehog midfield would improve our midfield at the moment. Out of interest, where did Hendo get concussion from? Must be more physical stuff in training than there is on the pitch. While we are at it and I am on a rant, how the hell do we keep getting injuries every game and nothing happens in the medical department? Robbo in the week, now Van Dijk. Players cannot run. What the hell is going on. It's every game.
  16. Or that Arsenal, who have not been in it for years, are spending now. It's almost like they want to stay there and see that you can buy players and stil make profit.
  17. We are a soft touch these days. Nice on the ball, soft as anything off it.
  18. So we will buy a midfielder in the summer that we could have bought last summer. Why are we not trying to get him now. Complete utter shit show. Clueless as is becoming the norm. Living off past success.
  19. Agree with those changes. Come on boys, early goal here!
  20. For the summer???? I don't understand anything they are doing at the moment.
  21. If they have players lined up for the summer that we have cast iron guarantees that they are coming regardless then I can see a logic for not ruining that by spending money now. I struggle to see that is the case. I also struggle to see Jürgen backing them doing nothing now. It's only a few months in from him saying they were risk averse. He has even said in the past that they are told the numbers and they have to get on with it. Not the same as them all being in unison on it I just cannot see doing nothing now as anything other than a humongous, arguably avoidable reckless gamble. One which I don't think any other well run club would do. Which well run organisation takes huge gambles? Hopefully they wont and this is all a strategy to make the likes of Brighton or whoever think they cannot rinse us. Maybe it is designed to put pressure on the likes of Caciedo to force moves or miss out. Either way, while I think we will have to agree to disagree on this, at least we are on the same page in terms of what we both would like as fans and cheers for the respectful discussion. All the best.
  22. Yeah, that is a lot of people's concern. They will do what the did then. Take a humongous risk to avoid spending money now. If they get lucky then those players that we want will still be attracted (albeit if you were Bellingham and we scraped top 4 would you see that as ambitious?). If they don't then we say cheerio to those players that help us stay/get CL as we won't have money. It's quickly forgotten that a certain French centre half wouldn't be here if we hadn't got CL and let's face it, instead of the near miss it turned out to be last season would likely have been a struggle. Personally I prefer my team to do their best to mitigate risks instead of taking huge risks to avoid spending money and dressing it up as strategy. Like I said, I am hopeful they have learnt from Jan 21 and will be active this month.
