Can't say I'm bothered about not being in the FA Cup fifth round but our performance, again, was fucking woeful.The game was brought to the state of farce in the first half but descended to just absolute shite in the second. It became the sort of game this clapped out, old, meaningless trophy deserves.

Watched the Matip own goal again, and noticed how close to Mignolet the mishit cross was. It’s almost as he actively backs off to avoid to catch it. Every other keeper in the PL would’ve caught that ball.

 

Also the second disallowed goal sums him up. He’ll loose that aerial battle against the opponent 10 out of 10 times.

And if Mignolet is facing that Milner shot on 85 minutes, it goes past him and everyone says "well, nothing he could do about that one." Except when it's another keeper, it gets saved and it doesn't even seem like that big a deal.

Moreno switches off for the first 2. But, TAA has to do better for both too.

 

First one, he makes a 50/50 a 30/70 by chucking in a token effort, half hearted tackle. Second, he's too narrow initially and then too slow to get out and block the low cross.

 

Moreno is pish. We all know this. TAA has a lot to do still to convince that he's good enough, defensively.

We really need to learn to control the game. It all gets too frantic. We need more quality in the midfield for sure. I don’t see a player in there with the ability on the ball to slow it down and calm everyone down a bit.

Fucks sake this has been the case since Klopp turned up. He's added fuck all to it. Wijnaldum is a lightweight. Can is fucking rubbish. Henderson fuck all to offer. Chamberlain has a chance if he gets better players around him.

More often than not it is the midfield that fucks us up and Klopp needs to get it sorted because he hasn't yet.

100% agree. Two or three of the not great, but decent saves that Foster made would go straight past him.

 

Also I guess Foster caught about 10 crosses in this game, which is more than Mignolet has caught all season. On the first disallowed goal, Foster would’ve walked out and caught it in his sleep.

 

And Foster is probably far from the best keeper in the league.

It’s a strange thing how we can go from beating Man City to losing the last couple. The difference between our good stuff and bad stuff is far too great. Not long ago we were smashing teams 7-0 and looking dark horses for the Champions League and a sure thing for top four.

 

I wouldn’t like to say where it’s at right now. Much more of this and we’re definitely not finishing top four. We really need to regroup and get going again, quickly.

 

And I would definitely be making moves behind the scenes to clinch a good signing before the window closes as there’s a bit of a cloud forming and the team needs a lift.
