What’s going on? Is there some sort of undercover bum forum? Why haven’t the rest of us been told? Or is it just me?

Nothing too private mate. Should be more info later. Just make sure your box is empty before there’s something juicy to be passed on.

Bayern Munich are believed to have infuriated Schalke over the pursuit of Leon Goretzka, leaving Liverpool as a viable option for the midfielder.

Bayern confirmed their interest in the Germany international this week after sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic admitted the 22-year-old was on their shopping list.

However, Schalke chief Christian Heidel has revealed his disgust at the manner in which Bayern have approached Goretzka, who is out of contract in the summer.

“Leon Goretzka is a great player, that’s clear,” said Salihamidzic. “He is a Schalke player and we obviously respect that.

“But he is a Germany international and we can say that we are interested in him.”

That has infuriated Schalke’s Heidel, who said: “Bayern say Leon is a player of Schalke, but then talk more about a player of Schalke than about their own!” Heidel said.

“As a result, they [the transfer rumours] are fuelled again and again.

“We do not have to hear every day from the people of Munich how good the player is!”

The Bundesliga champions are aiming to tie Goretzka to a pre-contract to enable them to land the player for free in the summer.

The Daily Express claim now that “Liverpool could now have the upper hand in negotiations”.

The Reds signed Joel Matip on a pre-contract agreement in February 2016 and they are believed to have a good working relationship with the Bundesliga side.

Liverpool have been linked with a move for the player, but Arsenal, Manchester United, Barcelona, Real Madrid and Juventus have all been mentioned as possible desinations for the midfielder.

Goretzka, who has made 12 appearances this season for Schalke, scoring four goals and providing one assist, is in Benidorm with the rest of the squad for their winter training camp.

Makes no sense at all

So what if Bayern have pissed Schalke off. They do not have to negotiate with Schalke just Goretzka agent

That article is the most retarded thing I’ve read on any transfer this window. How does Shalke being pissed off give Liverpool the upper hand. He’s a fucking free agent in the summer and it even says that in the same article.

Admit it, you love the January transfer window and all the articles that come as a result.

The only thing I can think is that it might motivate Shalke to sell him this January to anyone but Bayern?

Just wonder what would happen if we came in with a £10-15m bid to buy him right now.

We can get an agreement with him now but Bayern cannot. That is the only difference.

He takes a risk if he does not sign an agreement now. If he gets a massive injury in May with a 12 month lay off he is left with a contract and would have to meet all medical bills etc himself.

Yes if Bayern want to negotiate a free transfer with the player at the end of the season. But if Liverpool rock up and wave a shedload of euros at Schalke they may decide to do a transfer in this window.

And if Goretzka still wants the Bayern move we could offer 100ml and it makes no difference

The ball is in Goretzkacourt,he move were he wants and Schalke have no say what so ever unless they aree to sell to the club he chooses to join now and not in 6 months

If he wants a Bayern move more than he wants to move here yes. So what is the debate? The debate is do Schalke feel pissed off with Bayern? According to reports yes. So if Schalke decide they'll listen to offers they may notice I said may be more inclined to deal with Liverpool. Would Goretzka be prepared to talk to us and hear what Klopp has to say? Recent events suggest he would.

The initial point was it does not matter what Schalke think

We are free to talk to Goretzka now and if he has chose Bayern over us in the summer us trying to make a deal now is not going to make any difference as he has made a choice. But lets just wait and see
