Ahhh, the Germans interviewed his mother ( my mother in law is related to them but over about 6 different families so very distant) and his mother was saying that Putin fast tracked his paperwork. The German reporter bird asked why he had taken it up being as they had all taken German nationality when her and her husband (who was also a footballer) had moved to Germany in the early 90's and she refused to answer and looked very sheepish and laughed it off. Also asked her if she was proud or sceptical about it all and once again she laughed nervously and said proud. Her son Roman Neustädter was also born in the Ukraine.
