Skrtel

I like Skrtel. While he's had his off periods, he's the last player that I feel any affinity towards at the club, so sad to see him leave for that reason really.

Very good on his days. Faster than given credit for.

The hard man thing is fairly true - he loves mixing it up and never shies away. I loved that old banner "Martin Skrtel is so hard he asked for a Big Mac in Burger King and they gave him one" or something like that.

Dont understand why people get on skrtel's case. He's a defender in carragher's mould. It is no co incidence the pair have scored so many og's when they fling their bodies in the path of any shot to try and keep it out. Strange that some fans put jamie head and shoulders over martin then.

Sure, he's had some shit games, i remember jamie scoring 2 og's for the mancs at Anfield once.

I think he was the best centre half at the club before this season. Sakho and Lovren have improved since then, and he's gone backwards. Matip and Joe Gomez coming back to fitness means he's fifth choice now, for me. Bye Martin, thanks for your service. I'll remember him fondly, not least for that season we finished second and he scored loads of goals. Quality.

Considering that he's never started a league game as a CB, I think Joe Gomez may the biggest myth in Liverpool history.

This is mostly how I feel. He gave everything for us. Past his best now so bye bye Martin and all the best

He had a good run at Liverpool. At his best he was well worth his place in the side. Strong in the tackle and he weighed in with some goals from set pieces. He never gave us an ounce of bother and always gave his all on the pitch. He goes with the best wishes of all fans.

As a player towards the end he seemed to drop deeper and deeper, and that's not how we want to see us play. We want to be on the front foot, hopefully playing a bit higher up the pitch with defends who can bring it out or pass it out a bit better. This sort of game is not Skrtel's forte.

He still has a few years left at a high level. Good luck Martin Skrtel.

Causing a penalty and standing rooted watching an opponent head home a corner. Very familiar display from Skrtel today.

Always liked him, but never rated him as a player. Remember argueing with poster Dracco about him, and I'm still convinced the latter is a close friend or relative of Skrtel.

Appreciate his efforts and wish him well in his next club.

If he grew hair and a beard Joe Allen style, it may turn things around for him.  Alas, he'll be sporting that completely hairless look at another club from now on.

Always gave his all, whether he was good or dire, all the best to him for the future.
