I think he rates him, Benteke just isn't working hard enough or doing enough in games. We've seen him batter plenty of PL defences and I'm pretty sure he's scored more goals with his feet than his head so it's not a case of us not whipping enough crosses in, he just doesn't seem arsed.

 

 

 

I think it was more a case of scouting him, rather than trying to sign him, and that's been inflated into the theories about Klopp wanting him here.

 

I still think Klopp may be able to adapt things and get him firing, at least in a passable way, but it'd need a complete overhaul of other positions and their natural style of play in order to get the best out of him, which seems a bit absurd. Like fitting a new engine and gearbox because you can't bear to part with your car stereo.

 

He doesn't move enough, and there's no way around that. He's better than Balotelli and Lambert, but he still ambles back from offside positions as if he's finishing a marathon. There's no space for the rest of the team because opposition CBs know he won't make the runs, so our only real quality - an abundance of decent (well, ish) AMs - end up having to slow things down and simply retain possession, thereby blunting any edge to our attack.
