Just seen the game. Had we not been so shit so often this season you'd just put this down as a bad day at the office. It happens. But we have been shit way too often.

Think Rodgers has to take some flak though. The team selection and second half tactics were just wrong. Gerrard and Lucas shouldn't be seen as a midfield pair ever again.

I couldn't believe how deep we were at the start of the second half.

We all know that we can't defend so god knows why we were trying to close the game out.

Bizarre tactics.

Makes me wonder was palace last season in the back of his head. But it doesn't have to be gung ho or shut up shop. There is a middle ground to be found.

I don't see how Palace is relevant?

I reckon that he realised we weren't at our best (we weren't very good first half) snd were fortunate to be 2-0 up and he just wanted to conserve energy and close it out.

Usually that would actually be an acceptable tactic but not for this team.

You're right in the sense that it wasn't like palace.there we were rampant.not today though.

But I do think the move to sit deep was borne out of fear of getting caught out. Leicester arnt world beaters but they've got goals in them and can catch teams on the break. Turns out us sitting deep probably worked better for them in the end up though

The best way to shut up shop would have been to put an extra man in central midfield (Henderson) and stifle their possession rather than drop deeper and invite them on.

I don't think this team has any way of shutting up shop to be honest but I know what you mean.

Just seen the highlights for the first time and Lucas was terrible for both goals.

Not what you want from your DM.

His performance against Swansea was very good. That was one game ago.

Well I'm not saying he's constantly been awful but when he got his chance again first few games I thought he was fantastic. He was putting himself about and shielding the defence really well. To me he's gradually been getting less good at that. That may not be his fault though as we've shifted to the 343.

We need to rebuild the central midfield.

Stevie is going *sobs* and we really need to move Lucas on as well.

We should look to do something in January to get the bedding in process out of the way but it won't happen.

We don't seem to specialise in logical thinking when it comes to transfers.

Ok, I disagree. I thought him and Henderson did well against Swansea. You're right the formation doesn't help. Not just in midfield either. Neither Can or Henderson knew what to, or who's job it was to do whatever, er, they should be doing, with their left winger Slurp today.

Both of their goals today were really good though, especially the Nugent one. Quick, incisive passing, involving several players, then a great finish. There were about seven touches after the ball had got beyond Lucas for that goal, I can't put into words just how fucking boring it is to read that he was at fault. I find it really weird.

We picked our two slowest midfielders and put them in a midfield two against a side that, whilst not particularly good, are more than capable of passing it around quite quickly, and running and stuff. Everything pointed in the direction of us being shit. Especially when coupled with our attacking tactic which consisted of Henderson booting it from side of the pitch to the other.

It's just all so fucking depressing. I genuinely have no faith in anyone at the club, owners, manager, coaches, or players. What the fuck are they doing all week? It can't be anything to do with football.

Lucas wasn't necessarily at fault for the goals, I just didn't like his role in them both, considering he's supposedly a specialist DM. I probably didn't word it well but it's late and i've had a long day driving there and back.

Our response when specific positions become vacant is bulk up the squad.
