Christmas Drinks

I ordered 2 slabs of Thatchers cider the other week, should have waited until nearer to Xmas as i've put a serious dent in them, just ordered another slab. Still got 2 crates of Weizenbier and a crate of Warsteiner pills left in the cellar from my birthday piss up (bought far too much) so that will do for beer. Jim Beam is on offer in the Real supermarket, 18€ for a One and a half litre bottle so going to get two of them tomorrow. Got other stuff like red and white wine, Bacardi and shit...the women can drink that.

Heads up for Champagne drinkers, Sainsburys have Heidsieck Monopole Blue Top on offer reduced from £25 to £15. My favourite Champagne too

Excellent, that's Christmas dinner wine taken care of.  However at that price, I will probably buy two and get messy later on.

Just the usual staple alcohol. Tins of beer, Harp as it happens, and some Jim Beam, but I'm partial to a little mulled wine at this time of the year

Had no idea they even made that still, haven't drunk it since I was about 17; I distinctly remember raiding a fridge full of it at a school party I went to.

Sell it in Canada in an Irish taster pack with Kilkenny and Guiness and Bass I think, although Bass might be British.

Pretty decent stuff if I remember.

Oh, yes.

O, Toby Light - where art thou, sweet nectar...?

They're not daft, are they? I wouldnt pay the 25 quid but will happily shell out 30 for 2 bottles.

It's on offer a few times a year and pick up a couple of bottles whenever I spot it. They make great emergency presents too

It's not really worth the £25 in my opinion.  I like it because it's heavy on the pinot noir, my preference, but I usually just end up buying Sainsbury's Blanc de Noirs which is actually pretty reasonable and better value.

Champagne is my secret vice.  I bought a mate a bottle of Moet grand vintage (2003 I think) for his wedding a couple of years ago which they decided to keep for a year and drink on their anniversary.  So cute.  He will never know how much restraint I had to show in not necking it and buying them some silver crap from Argos instead.
