I have had my new Nexus 5 for a month or so and my 02 deal is about to expire.

I want to know the best sim only deal out there.

As a bloke I am not a huge talker so 300 minutes of so is quite sufficient.

I need 1gig + data.

Tempted by Orange because of Orange Wednesday but there tariffs are dear

The best I have seen so far is virgin

Unlimited minutes, unlimited texts, and unlimited data £15 per month and no 12 month contract just 30 rolling days.

Dunno about their coverage though

I'm with Three and they've been OK so far.

Oh and complaining about customer service and then saying you might go to Virgin?

Really?

If you play hardball with them they'll do it cheaper than the £15 which is the standard price.  I've just signed up my missus to that deal, but am only paying £7 a month for that package. I did 'accidently' get through to retentions instead of customer service though.

Yeah I got the unlimited sim too - £15 a month is fine. They use EE so coverage is decent. Though I've heard they're pulling masts down in areas where the Orange and T-mobile coverage overlaps - some folk are rightly peeved at the reduced coverage.

GiffGaff do a £12 deal for unlimited web, texts and 250 minutes. They're on O2.

So how do I get through to virgin retentions?

I chose the option that I was thinking of leaving and got through and played dumb saying I must have chose the wrong option.  They were able to sort me out with a deal that sales were not allowed to.  Only thing is you've got to ring bit earlier as I think retentions department closes at 6 or 7

  • 2 months later...

Tesco Mobile are the best phone company I have ever dealt with. By about a billion miles. Their prices are very competitive and their customer service just pisses all over anything I've experienced elsewhere (particularly Orange who are absolutely fucking shit).

If you're looking to move I can't recommend them highly enough.
