Oooh I've never started a match thread before. Villa played well away to Norwich but I still think that they're poor this season. 3-0.

Villa over the last few years have in the main been a dire side whenever I've seen them, can't believe they haven't gone down after some of the performances last year

If the bib theory is true what's up with Sterlings absence?

 

Cole is an impact sub, if even. I know he's showed some form over the last few games but he shouldn't be ahead of Steling, Suso or Assaidi.

Lambert is a decent manager, like Rodgers he is sticking to his principles. Villa have been rubbish, but have been improving, their performance against Man U, if not the end result, suggesting that their season is on the turn.

 

I think this could be tougher than some imagine.

It looks like he might be getting rested according to that. He has played over 20 odd games this season.

Not opposed to giving Sterling a rest but christ I'll cry if I see Cole anywhere on the pitch and Downing at left back. Hope the bib theory is badly wrong.

Totally agree. He hasn't looked as sharp as he did at the start of the season. If you take that one on one he had with the fucking bin man against West Ham, I'm pretty sure he would of beat him to the ball if that was earlier in the season.

I can't get it right with Suarez when I have him as my captain he doesn't score, when I don't he does.

 

I'm not going to have him as my captain as I want us to win and Van Persie is just as likely to score usually.

I really dislike Villa. Could be the fact the fans talk funny. Could be the hangover from the nightmare that is Stewart Downing. Who knows, but hate is there. And we rarely beat teams i really, really dislike. Therefore, im not holding out a great deal of hope.

I have nothing against Villa, but I had a fiver on them to go down last season. Bolton put a stop to that. My last match of the year, so it would be nice to get another win and clean sheet and I don't really care how it's done.
