Was following the game on TMS yesterday and they were getting all excited by a stat they had come out with about Anderson having the most 'not outs' in cricket history and he was about to get his 100th not out if Woakes was out. They were so pleased with the stat that they were telling people to pass it on to the announcer via email or text and sure enough the announcement is made as they are leaving the field to huge applause. Unfortunately about 10 minutes later the statto realised he'd got it wrong and counted this innings twice, so he's only had 99, hogging all the applause from Woakes who hit a fantastic and potentially game/series altering 50!

Anderson is also on 99 test catches. Well, according to to Zaltzman.

Just now, Captain Turdseye said:

Even though they’re still a few runs behind, India are favourites now, for me. Barring a spectacular collapse. Here’s hoping.

Yes, our batting is too chaotic. Silverwood should drop the pretence that there is method in the batting madness.

If it wasn't for the probability that promising young batsmen will get a psychological battering in the Ashes, I'd like to see chances given to the likes of Joe Clarke (unlikely due to negative publicity), Ben Duckett (if Jimmy Anderson has forgiven him), and Zak Crawley (again) because of his young age. Clarke can keep wicket, which makes him as useful as Bairstow (for whom I have Sibley levels of disdain). Though if Foulkes can stop his Eric Sykes slapstick injuries, then him for w/k. Sam Hain might be able to cope with the Aussie conditions. Just checked and he's only a year older than Sibley who, even now, gets talked about as a future prospect.
