Pure arrogance cost them that,ridiculous not batting again.

Yeah pure arrogance and ridculousness!

Test matches where the follow-on was enforced:

Won by Side Enforcing Follow-On = 232 (78.38%)

Lost by Side Enforcing Follow-On = 3 (1.01%)

Drawn = 60 (20.27%)

The speed with which England bat - and the fact the Kiwis put on 100 for the 8th wicket in their first innings - I'd have batted again.

Australia have lost 2 of those 3 you mention above - and it's very hard to recall them enforcing a follow on since (2001).

There was plenty of time in the game they would have been batted out of it, see what Skaro said. Shit happens but to me it was not necessary.

 Not the end of the world as it made for a great finish, but agree with VD it was a ridiculous follow-on to take up in the circumstances. If they were just worried about entertaining they could gave just batted in the 2nd innings like a one-day match and still taken NZ's chances away from them, confirming the series win.

Especially when you have 2 ageing bowlers and another injured.

'Bazball' wasn't the issue. A risky follow-on call was.

I'd take a dramatic loss to India right now. It would still be a significant improvement for our rabble.

England could have been 450+ ahead by the end of Day 3.

But anyway, another historical and unbelievable follow-on miracle victory... so everything happens for a reason.

Well done, England.  Well done, NZ.

On course to give Australia a fuckin hammering in The Ashes.

For all the recent collapses and bemoaning of how shit we were at test cricket the Aussies still never managed to beat us at home. Not a chance they do it now against this team, there's nothing the Aussies are bringing that hasn't been seen already.  They are a good side and it'll be a good series but can't see past anything other than a comfortable England victory.
